Finally.
Oberto re-signs with Spurs
07/18/2007
Associated Press
Part-time starter Fabricio Oberto has re-signed with the San Antonio Spurs. Terms were not disclosed.
The 6-foot-10 native of Argentina spent the past two seasons with the Spurs, who announced the signing Wednesday. He started 33 of his 79 games last season, averaging 4.4 points and 4.7 rebounds in about 17 minutes per game. He started 12 of 20 playoff games for the Spurs, who won their fourth championship in nine seasons.
Oberto set a franchise record by all 11 field goal attempts — for a career-high 22 points — in November against Phoenix.

could you imagine arg. had he not especially considering spurs traded scola
But, where's the condition contract? 10,5M/3y? Any option player or option team?
Any link?
wildchild, I love that photo of Timmy and Oberto. That was near the end of game 4 when you could really feel that the Spurs were taking it.
Yeah, Timmy shows he's the perfect example of the leader for this group.
I'm hoping to see this Argentinean not repeat the "got the contract now I'm gonna relax" routine.
Somehow, I don't think he'll do that, because I get the feeling he wants to show more, exactly what I don't know. Maybe better defense without as many fouls committed. A more consistent medium J?
The Spurs will most likely repeat this year. This is based on the fact that they didn't lose any key players.
We'll probably never know if the Spurs would have signed Scola if Oberto had signed with another team...somehow, I doubt it. They probably would have promoted Elson to starter and moved Butler into the bottom of the rotation.
Thanks, guys.
You didn't answer me.
Anyway, perhaps you'll answer my question later.
Next season?2008-2009, 2009-2010?

The Spurs re-signed center Fabricio Oberto on Wednesday to a three-year, $10.5 million contractthe final season isn't fully guaranteed.
Thanks, Bruno. The Spurs rewarded him with another multiyear deal, though the final season isn't fully guaranteed![]()
I read that in Holt'sCat post but I'll need confirmation about the final season. If the final season isn't guaranteed his contract has an option team. Good for the Spurs, bad for Fab.
oberto is the better big and we have the best arg player in manu. I am happy with that. I still wish we could have gotten a better trade for scola though.
scola should have put up better numbers since he was the main overseas
why could he not play more minutes over seas
What the....?
Nice call.
Yeah, Oberto played out of his mind in the last 4 mins of that game.
It's not really a team option.
The last year isn't FULLY guaranteed.
It means that Spurs could waive Oberto in the 09 summer and only give him a part of his 08-09 salary (likely $2M).
Oops. I understand nowBruno.
