While the situation does seem a bit inequitable, that's an overstatement.
The Spurs are stuck with this dude and they traded away Scola for a box of smelly corny .
What a huge fubar.
While the situation does seem a bit inequitable, that's an overstatement.
Seems like nobody ever wants anything the Spurs have most of the time. But again, other teams make "blockbuster" trades and big offseason signings involving name brand players, and who ends up winning championships? ing amazing!!
Most players' worth gets reduced when they play for the Spurs as they get bluntly hit over the head with the system and their former stats decline. It's good for the team but doesn't help us when we try to trade their sorry ass.
It generally doesn't help when "the system" requires them to sit on their ass for most of the season.
The system that wins Championships requires attention to detail and a dedication to defense. If you can't hack it at Championship level you shouldn't play for the Spurs. Beno can't hack it - too weak mentally.
a fa value increases when spurs are mention even when we arent interested, misleading promotingfukn spurs
How'd Francisco Elson see any court time in the NBA Finals last month?
Elson was decent on defense, but aiding his cause is the fact that Oberto can't play 48 minutes and Jackie Butler is out of shape and worse than Elson. If he had Parker and Vaughn type players in front of him at center - he wouldn't see many minutes.
But, to completely answer your question - Elson plays HARD. He plays with guts and isn't a pussy getting booty hurt because the coach expects him to bust his ass. That pussy on the Spurs team is Beno.
Elson sucked hard on defense. His only redeeming quality was the footspeed he brought to the 5 spot.
bateer> elson
depressed damn that jessica simpson is one mighty fine !!!! nick lachey...in idiot
You got that right
bateer's power> elson+Oberto![]()
Since we have Beno for another year, why not try something different and change his role? Make him a spot-up shooter only, not a PG, and use him in occasional spots where his only role is to hit the open 3... he should be able to do that, right? Or send him to the Toros to get some game time and maybe get his confidence back.
We can't even snag a 2nd rounder for him? That's sad, because he might be a decent backup somewhere else. He's clearly a confidence player, and Pop has destroyed his confidence.
Beno is not elgible for DLeague. Can only be sent to DL for the first 2 years.
Thus speaketh the authority on corn........
Wrong!
Too much chocolate Bueno = Beno
If nobody has called it already.....
This season, 2008-09, will be the season Beno breaks out!
By mid-season he will crack the rotation and get out of the dog house.
Quote it!
Is there some sort of 5 second rule, where I can take that one back!
Beno played well initially when he distributed the ball and didn't try to force things. That, supposedly, is how he caught attention at some Chicago pre-draft event. Last year he forgot all that and came in and immediately started throwing up bricks off the side of the rim. He needs to go back to what he was doing before because he doesn't have the mindset to be some sort of gunner.

Beno just needs to reinvent himself, figure out that he is on a team that will contend for a le for the next few years, forget about the past and be the player that we drafted, and decide he wants to have a part in winning and Beno can still be an asset to this team.
Yeah, I keep forgetting about that rule, thanks.
Yet another reason the NBA needs a proper AAA system. That was discussed in depth in another thread but I can't find it.
