July 19, 2007 - New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul will be featured on the cover of NBA 2K8, publisher 2K Sports said.
Following two All-American seasons at Wake Forest University, the Winston-Salem, N.C., native was the fourth overall selection by Hornets in the 2005 NBA Draft and led all rookies in points, assists, steals, and minutes during his first season.
"I'm a big time video gamer and it's a dream come true to be on the cover and represent the next NBA 2K game," Paul said.
NBA 2K8 is set for a fall release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2.

I don't know I'm pretty happy with the game overall. Its the best basketball sim to date by far.
My only complaint is that they didn't raise the salary cap accordingly as the years in the franchise mode went by. So in effect you ended up with player salaries rising far more than the cap which mad it unbelievably hard to sign FA even after you cleared major contracts off the payroll.
Scouting and new player faces became quite redundant.
Otherwise you had a game that flowed pretty ing well with an AI that was about as good as we've seen without shooting 75% from the field which is all you would typically get with Live's more difficult levels.

2k sports nba is so real, i love it
I must admit that it is one of the more realistic B-Ball games I have played. I was pretty much a NBA Live guy up until they started making their games basically unplayable with all the glitches. I know that 2k has their share of glitches, but I just like how you can't dominate through the game like on NBA live. I'm using Cleveland, and some games Lebron and Hughes shoot lights out, in other games they can't hit jack. One team I had problems with was Orlando. I lost to them twice before I played probably my best game of the season and beat them by damn near 50. But the next game I lost to the 76ers by 20. The last two times I played the 76ers I handled them pretty easily. I guess we were still riding high from finally beating the Magic.
This is pretty cool news, I am glad they are mixing up the covers now. Paul is cover-star worthy in my eyes.
They also need to make a lot new faces. The same face appears like 100 times in Association mode.

I love the 2k series, hope they fix the animation in the paint when you spin by pressing the y button. people abuse this move bc everyone you execute it they almost never miss

I just hope they fix the where Lebroom and Larry Hughes can dunk the ball from 10 feet out anytime they get more than an inch of separation or a running start. I had a 57-9 record online, 8 losses were to anyone using the ing Cavs to put on a dunk contest
Actually it's the same thing with Madden 07. I actually saw a black Kyle Boller.
I use the Cavs on 2k, and while they make alot of dunks and shots, I must say though that when LeBron and Hughes are off, they are off.... Also a trick to use against Lebron is that he gets ALOT of charging calls called against him when he get into the lane. Hughes not as bad, but Lebron gets tons of charging fouls against him.
They should also fix the problem where there are way too many missed layups that should be made. Other than that, the game is about as flawless as it can get.
I think the gameplay is pretty much perfect. I have 2k7 for my xbox and that game plays very smoothly but I played it on my friends 360 and the game is a little less smooth, but I figure that is because it's a new console and all and they are still figuring out its capabilities. So hopefully it'll run smooth for the ps3 when I get one lol. The only thing I wish they would do more for is the Association. I mean, its fun and all and I could do that for hours, I just wish they would add more to it like with Madden. Maybe build a new stadium and relocate and just a lot more stuff like that, and be able to trade more than 3 people at a time. But i recently bought 2k4 to play the franchise mode and by simulating the whole time, I was able to get Darko's ppg up to 50. It was epic.
You have any idea who the refs were for those games?
