This tenth and final summer league game is currently underway for the Spurs. There's a good chance that Pop is in attendance for this game, so it's outcome could be more important than usual.

James White is fighting for a roster spot. Marcus Williams is trying to give reason to be excited. CJ Watson is perhaps playing for a training camp invite.

Plus, it's always good to beat the Mavs.

I hope White has a good showing. If not for his future with the Spurs so that he can land somewhere later and get some quality court time.

Williams has been impressing me with his defense recently. Hopefully he keeps it up.

For all of our sakes, I hope Watson has a horrible game. I don't want to hear him mentioned regarding the Spurs anymore.

Hopefully Pop wasn't in attendance. Letting the Mavs shoot 70% from the field could be enough to waive everyone on the team.

    Ager was 8-12FG.

    Isn't Williams defense good?

I think the only one who deserves a training camp look is White

Fazekas was off to a slow start in Las Vegas but he finished pretty well. 23 points, 7 rebs.. Of course, Donnell Harvey was playing C.

The usual suspects for the Mavs. That was the best shooting game for Ager and Faz (he has been a real downer) during the summer league. Good to see that Faz can actually shot the ball.

Berea needs to be our Back-up PG right now. The one two punch of Harris and Berea would leave about any team winded.

I think its a little too late for Pop's, he is athletic as all get out, but he needs to polish his offensive game and develop a mid-range shot. At 6-9 he is not going to make a living in the NBA with dunks.

JJB looked Nashesque at times, he was great, except i dont see how his game (lack of height and athletisicm) will translate to the NBA, im skeptical. I think he could be one of the best PG's in a European setting, but in the NBA, well have to wait and see.

Pops is like James White - an athlete first, athlete second and basketball player third.

Fazekas is an Austin Croshere CLONE

Ager is a keeper - he looks like he could be a scoring spark off the bench.

JJB has everything but size. His vision is probably the best on the team and yes, he is very Nashlike in his game. I'm not sure if he is going to be a starter in this league, his size is a problem but like Harris, his speed is an asset. I think that he can have a career at the NBA level. He needs to play now.

With Ager, as I said, this was his best shooting game of the summer league. He has been very streaky which is not something that the Mavs need at the SG position (We already have Terry) He is bigger then Terry and has shown some ability to play defence, maybe he will stick this year.

Fazekas is an Austin Croshere CLONE
For a second round pick, this would be great. He is ot as good a shooter as Croshere is, at least he has not shown that yet. This was a good game for him, but it was the only "good game" from him sense the draft. For someone that had a history of rebounding ... That aspect of his game did not show very well either. He needs work, I don't see him with the big boys this comming year.

Brandon Bass is the guy that you should be looking out for. he didn't have a good RMR but he was the unsung hero of the Vegas games. He is so much more polished then Pop's or Faz. he should start the year with the team and maybe even be our back-up PF. He was a man that looked like he wanted a second chanceafter being let go by the Hornets.

I've never seen Fazekas as a Croshere type player. Fazekas plays more like a pivot who has good basketball fundamentals offensively. He's not very athletic and he is slower afoot than a lot of power forwards. He sets good screens, passes pretty well, makes the right play, and he is a very efficient scorer with nice touch around the basket. He's a skilled bigman. His teams tend to have fewer missed trips because he contributes well offensivley.

He is not very good defensively...he's a bit soft actually. As time goes on, I think there will always be room on a roster for a Big like Nick with good fundamentals who can come off the bench and contribute.

In Thursday's opening game, Nick Fazekas -- a 2007 high second-round selection from the University of Nevada -- put on quite a show for Dallas in the Mavericks' 115-103 win over San Antonio.

The three-time Western Athletic Conference player of the year scored a game-high 23 points, topping six from Dallas in double-figures, and made 10-of-12 from the field. Fazekas also had seven rebounds in 30 minutes.

But he wasn't the only Mav who was hot: roster-regular Maurice Ager had 21 points and shot 8-for-12, including 2-of-2 from 3-point range; Pops Mensah-Bonsu boosted his roster bid by scoring 15 points (7-for-12) and grabbing six boards in just 21 minutes; and point guard Jose Juan Barea, hoping to stick, scored 17 while dishing six assists.

In the same game, Spurs forward James White aided his efforts to stay on the roster beyond Aug. 1 and earn $100,000 in guaranteed salary by scoring 17 points with 6-of-10 field shooting. White, however, had just one rebound in 31 minutes.
