Pardon if I sound dumb, but if you don't know, you don't know. Ian played in summer league last year. Why was Splitter unable to? Was it b/c of his current contract? Doesn't Ian have a contract w/ a European team as well? Any answer outside of blow me, dumb , and for brains would be greatly appreciated. it's probably because of the different contracts they have, splitter's contract probably doesn't allow him to play for other teams aside from his national team, and ian probably signed a ass contract that lets him do whatever with the spurs
It's likely because of his contract with Tau as koopa said.
Even if Splitter's contract allowed him to play in summer league , I'm not sure that he would have played :
- Splitter isn't unknown at all for Spurs. He was a top prospect in Europe and Scola's teammate : Spurs know him very well and they don't need to see him in summer league to evaluate him.
- Splitter has played a lot at an higher level than summer league. A summer league wouldn't have helped a lot his development.
- Splitter needed some rest. He has had a big season in Europe that has ended in June and will play with Brazilian NT soon : I'm not sure that playing a summer league in July is the good thing to do.

Splitter shoul make a better season the next year because scola is gone to houston .
The spurs wait and wants to see what he does in the spanish league .
The first concern for the spurs is mahimni , he should be on the roster the next year
gracias.... pardon my outrage from yesterday
Splitter next year coach in Tau will be Neven Spahija. He is from Croatia and was Maccabi's coach last year.
