The real question is how many games does he sit out once we let him back on the team?

I would give him the money he asked for. Just to have him in Spurs Jersey, is Priceless. Only a bandwagon fan would lose loyalty so soon, how some of you sleep at night? is beyond human comprehension

I would give him a Spurs jersey in a heartbeat. I would trust him to be back in shape and ready to play (why would he risk to come back out of shape?).

Sadly, he would still outrebound any big on the team outside of Duncan.

    Damn straight.

But I think he's happily involved in greater causes than playing basketball, and good on him!

Of course. Wow look at our "big Five"

    Robinson
    Duncan
    Bowen
    Ginobili
    Parker

Opponents PPG will be about only 60.

that was actually the lineup that ended up winning the 03 championship.Eventhough manu was a roockie and a reserve with not many minutes in the reg season,He performed great in the playoffs and the NBA finals.

He'd have to work out the same as anyone else who wanted a roster spot. He'd probably earn it given that he's probably still twice as athletic as Oberto and is at least 5 concussions away from being as defensively slow as Elson, but still. You want on my team I don't give a if you got your jersey retired or not. If you can't show me enough to make me cut Beno then you don't belong back in the league.

No, but they might be willing to pay him to go win a championship somewhere else.

In a heartbeat, if only to see him like this again!

Can you imagine the press interview going somewhat like this:

Q.- How does it feel being back in a Spurs uniform with your old number?
    A.- "Great.......Wow!"

Q.- Just how much do you think you can help out the team this year get another trophy?
A.- "This team is all about defense so that's where I'll spend most of my time. My back feels good, my stretching routine is really helping out, can't wait for preseason to start to get my rhythm and wind back."

    Q. - Considering your age, how will you and Robert Horry adjust to each other?
    A. - "Well you know, I was thinking about the last time Rob and I were on the court. He missed his Big Shot and is touchy about that so I come with candy and flowers just to make him happy (laughter). My biggest challenge with Big Shot will be to keep him motivated and challenge him to get his game going at least a month earlier than April (more laughter!)."

    Q. - How do you think the rest of the team has reacted to this surprise signing of the Admiral back into the black & silver fleet?
    A. - "Greg, I'll tell you, this group works hard to make room for me. This is one team that doesn't need name tags. And when they're back to the finals they will need no introduction. I mean, they're all blessed to be on the same page with the same coach, same teammates, and Timmy, Tony, Manu again, that's more of the same continuity, what more could you want in the way of having that kind of familiarity with your teammates?"

Well, best wishes and good luck with your out of retirement job of giving another anchor to the Dynastic Defense of the San Antonio Spurs, Mr. Robinson!

"Thank you Greg, see you at the finals"

You forget the most important question.

The road to another championship may very well go through the Mavericks, who are headed by your good friend AJ. Your thoughts?
I'm gonna that little midget up.
