Spurs are still at the same level as last yr not to mention another yr of exp. and another yr that parker is nearing his finals mvp prime.

Suns last yr had a hard time with there lack of depth in the front court spot and now what have they done? gotten rid of Thomas and seriously have no back ups. yet another yr older for nash as well.

Mavs-Justchokeeverytime though they are prob the biggest threat besides the spurs to win it all.

Boston- has a nice big 3 but who do they have besides that? no one, really. not to mention they have never played one game together.

cavs- didnt really get any better besides a yr of great exp.

Nuggets- should finally last longer then 5 games in the 1st round but still, they dont have the role players

Rockets- got alot better but are still a yr away imo. they need to play with each other more and how is franchise going to work out?

imo power Rankings to who has the best chance...

    1.Spurs
    2.mavs
    3.suns
    4.Rox
    5.East ( Cavs, Pistons, Celtics )

Basically why we didnt change much, if anything got a bit better from experience and tony parker nearing his prime, other teams seem to not change and or get worse.
Duncan's game is all about fundamentals and finesse, hes what now 30? 31? He is still going to get his 20 and 10. Parker another yr older is better. He is nearing his prime. Manu is going to be the same as last yr. hes what just 30? Finely is still gona do well in his role and bowen just came off his best yr. another yr for elson and oberto can only better them as well. Spurs get the there to old it seems like every other yr and what...if they dont have any injuries and no other team makes a crazy trade, I dont understand why the spurs wont have a good chance to repeat.

ah I just made this cause Im tired of these haters, how many more ships do you want before you give us our props...o wait what has your team done in the last ten yrs.

I still think we don't match up well with Dallas. The Spurs haven't gotten any better at this point. I think signing a player like Udoka would really help because he would be able to guard Howard. Barnes is a pipe dream but I would love to have him. We'll see what the Spurs will do. If they only sign Mahinmi and Williams it will be really tough against Dallas. It was logical that they keep the core together but a good (maybe even young) wing defender and rebounder would increase the chance for the Spurs.

It's a good take based on what they gave us this year and what we gave back. I'm painting it too broadly but just how much video the opposition studies will influence them in deciding what to focus on when developing their offense/defense sets because obviously, we're the target team and after having dissected Spur ball, then they'll focus, by degrees, on the best of the rest. There are some Spurs-influenced teams out there that will systematically succeed their way to the tops of their divisions.

Then I read about how some teams don't care about externals. They set goals and stick to what their staff recommends, based on their performance the year prior.

Sometimes in the past we hired players based on our toughtest opposition, those players who would best provide good matchups. the '99 Spurs morphed into a team that would be effective against the Lakers. Last, Elson and Butler were hired for speed and size to help us compete with Dallas and Phoenix.

But I don't think that's the case this year. We've kept the roster mostly intact.

Put it this way, punch your way out through to the western conference.

Shoot your way out to the top of the eastern.

    General, too general.

I can think of three things that give the Spurs a chance to repeat:

    Parker

    Ginobili

    and..oh yeah..

    Duncan.

The spurs will repeat no doubt about it. I just have a good feeling. Phoenix didn't get any better this year, just because they signed the injury proned Grant Hill and Nash is just getting older as the years pass. Hill & Nash will end there careers just like Malone & Stockton with no rings. Dallas is the only team standing in our way in the west. Spurs Vs Mavs in WCF this year. Spurs in 6 games on the way to another championship. Dirk & Cuban on the sideline crying saying we where so close. LOL...
