    If a team signs him for the sole purpose of entering him in the dunk contest, that GM should probably be fired.

    I'm continually amazed by the folks who think the ability to dunk is the most important attribute of a basketball player and qualifies him for an NBA roster.

    No, it's more than that. When you are able to dunk like James White, you have something called, ATHLETIC ABILITY. Few players can jump as far or as high as James. Well, what else do would require a person to jump while playing basketball? Blocking, jump shot, stealing (in some instances) Things which are coachable. Every person is different, each with a unique way of learning. James White simply didn't fit in our system. I'm not a coach, so I can't quite figure out why he was cut, other than to save money, roster spot, or at ude.

    He'll be a superstar in 2 years... playing in China, where he is taller than almost everyone and people can't jump high enough to block his shot. Unfortunately, in the NBA, people can jump just as high and they are bigger than he is, and they actually know how to play defense. You might need a basketball IQ, too. James White doesn't have one of those.
