coming from arkansas, this does not surprise me. i just feel sorry for the kids.
Arkansas couple welcome their 17th child
LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (AP) -- It's a girl -- again -- for Jim Bob and Mic e Duggars, the proud parents of 17 children.
And after Jennifer Danielle was born Thursday morning, her parents already were talking about having more children.
"We'd love to have more," Mic e Duggar said, adding that the girls are outnumbered seven to 10 in the family. "We love the ruffles and lace."
The family's home in the northwest Arkansas town of Ton own includes dormitory-style bedrooms for the boys and girls, nine bathrooms, a commercial kitchen, four washing machines and four dryers.
The children are home-schooled by Mic e Duggar, 40. The oldest is 19 and the youngest, before Jennifer, is almost 2 years old. The family includes two sets of twins.
"We are just so grateful to God for another gift from him," said Jim Bob Duggar, 42, a former state representative who sells real estate. "We are just so thankful to him that everything went just very well."
All of Jennifer's siblings also have names that start with J. They are: Joshua, 19; John David, 17; Janna, 17; Jill, 16; Jessa, 14; Jinger, 13; Joseph, 12; Josiah, 11; Joy-Anna, 9; Jedidiah, 8; Jeremiah, 8; Jason 7; James 6; Justin, 4; Jackson, 3; Johannah, almost 2.
The Duggars have been featured on several programs on cable's Discovery Health Network.
Among the "fun facts" listed on Discovery Health's Web page devoted to the Duggars: A baby has been born in every month except June; the family has gone through about 90,000 diapers, and Mic e Duggar has been pregnant for 126 months -- or 10.5 years -- of her life.

They show them on the Discovery channel all the time. The older ones basically end up being surrogate parents to the younger ones. That's a seriously ty thing to do to a kid.
Is there any situation where it would seem acceptable to have 17 kids? seriously. Unless these people are millionaires, what they are doing is irresponsible

Yeah, that's probably why they still have the 19 YO at home. These kids are going to be ed up when they hit the real world, too.

The husband must drink a freaking bunch, or is on the road a lot.
The poor woman is either brainwashed or mentally ill. Who would want to go through life pregnant their entire childbearing years?
And the husband is crap. Keep it in your pants once in a while or go get a snip job. I didn't realize that being "a former state rep who sells real estate" in Arkansas would pay the rent on a 7000 sf house, either. Jim Bob Selfish wad.
They built the house themselves. Plus I'm sure TDC payed them for doing the shows. As long as they are not on welfare, more power to them.
Real Estate pays $$$ bigtime if you are good at it(and work at it).
The fact that he has 17 kids and is famous for it probably helps him quite a bit in his job as well.
No one can say he isn't a family man.

I'm kinda shocked this guy is being villified by some for having a large family.
I wonder if some of these people think it's not a fans business when an athlete cheats on his wife and has 6 babies with 6 women.

i can't stand these people.. especially the way they say they "leave it in god's hands" when they get preggo... but she purposely weans all her abbies at 6 months so she can start ovulating and get preggo again ASAP.
ICK! so even the deranged idea she uses as an excuse is a LIE.
and I hate how she passes off her kids to the older ones (her babies are only 'buddy' untill they are 18months) and she does this freaky thing where she puts her infants on a blanket on the floor and stands at a distance from them.. and everytime the baby tries to crawl towards it;s momma or get off the blanket, or reach for her - she spanks it!it's called "blanket training". ing wrong.
i'm waiting on baited breathe for the Dugger Children;s "mommy dearest" style tell all.
man I am tired of seeing these people on TV all the dang time. On a side note American Choppers will be in new braunfels tomorrow !!!
so are the younger boys all gay? supposedly, the more older brothers you have the more likely you are to be gay.
