Looks like they are trying to pull what L.A. did a few years back. we saw how that turned out, too many egos if you ask me. Maybe they should ask Roger Clemens as well.

Wow they're trying to get as much veterans as possible.. I bet about 5 years from now they will have a team that will challenge the least wins for a season.

Maybe they can pull Karl Malone, Dennis Rodman, and Scottie Pippen out of the woodworks, too.

I'll admit, as much as I hate Reggie as a commentator, I'm glad he chose to walk away from the game he played so well with style.

I'd have more respect for him for that, then I would EVEN if he won a ring with some long-shot scheme like this.

    Reggie, Reggie, please go away.

This type of experiment has already been tried before - see 2004 L.A. Fakers.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again: As a fan of basketball that watches televised games, I'm praying somebody picks up Reggie.

If Turner wanted intelligent commentary on basketball delivered articulately and with a sense of humor, they hired the wrong freakin' Miller. I think they actually hired Reggie to keep Barkley from looking quite so stupid.

Ainge continues to prove what a major dip he is. Boston needs versatile wing defenders and post rebounders. Miller solves neither problem.

Can somebody link back to where I mentioned Miller as a possibility for the Spurs and I got laughed at and even had a reggie miller screen name created because I had suggested the idea of Miller making a comeback for another team?

Just checking to see if those who romped around in that post had selective memories or not.

Miller expected to take a hefty paycut

    ESPN.com news services

    Updated: August 20, 2003, 9:46 PM ET

As an unrestricted free agent, Reggie Miller apparently had an opportunity to join Karl Malone in Los Angeles with the Lakers.

But instead of taking shots alongside Malone, Miller sounded like he was taking a few shots at Malone. At least indirectly.

In announcing his new multiyear contract to stay in Indiana as a member of the Pacers, Miller took the anti-Malone approach. He opted to stick with the only team he's known instead of chasing an elusive NBA le with a more likely contender.

"I didn't want to be like some other guys who jump on another team's bandwagon just to get a ring," Miller said.

If you suggested Reggie coming to play for the Spurs, that's why you got laughed at. The fact that he might go to the worst team in the league doesn't make that suggestion less stupid. Adding Reggie Miller to a team that's going to have people competing for shots is not much brighter.

Membership profiles don't lie. I have been a member since 2005. I just don't post much during the off-season and regular season. I don't have NBA TV, so I can't contribute much to actual discussions of regular season games. (Thanks a lot, major networks.) FOX Sports is all Pacers on the Midwest channel.

Oh, please sign on Reggie!! I'd love to see this freak show in Boston - they'll contend for the worst defense in the league with those wing players.

    Forrest>>>>>>Trees.......

The point is to win now. Nobody gives a about 5 years from now. If they sign Miller and Troy Hudson, they are almost a Lock Bet to get to the NBA Finals from the East.

That town was used to winning and it has been a long time since they have. so i am pretty sure that they would trade a old suckfest team then (like they have had recently) in 5 years for a few Trips to the Finals over the next 5 years. As would most teams.
