    WTF?

@ the thought of trying to enroll an infant at a daycare and telling them that the baby doesn't wear diapers.

I've heard of this before and I just would never be able to deal with it. I pretty much let my kids potty train themselves........of course they were all over 4 yrs old!

my 1.5 yr old has been virtually diaper free (just wears them at night) since 11 months.
and I have 2 close friends whose children were diaper free.. both from birth.
I tried it early on, and It just wasn't my thing.

but I'm definatly going 100% cloth with the next obi-spawn.

I am sorry but if you are feeding an infant correctly, they will not go without peeing all night long. And teaching them to pee on trees and in public restroom sinks is unsanitary and inconsiderate. Any one who breast feeds will also tell you that breast fed infants often poop while nursing. Now, try that without a diaper on the baby!!

Isis Arnesen, 33, of Boston, has a 14-week-old daughter, Lucia, who is diaper-free. She said it can be awkward to explain the process to people, such as when she helped Lucia relieve herself in a sink at a public restroom.
That is ing discusting. And I would have definitely have said something if I saw her doing so.

I was once in a Dillard's restroom with my mom when some woman let her kid pee in the sink the just slapped some water up there and off they went. Or so they thought until my mom caught up to her and chewed her up one side and down the other!! The woman tried to get some clerks to call security, but those ladies just stood there saying "That's disgusting!"

Jesus...have some consideration for other people. It's bad enough there is always pee on the toilet. Does there have to pee on the sink too? Can't they hold them over a toilet, for chrissake?

    Your mom rules!

This whole method relies on the parent being able to pick up on subtle context clues that cue when the baby's gonna let fly. Couple questions come to mind:

    1) the whole trial and error thing with that process has got to be rough
    2) do you just pray to baby Jesus that you're in your backyard every time this happens? What if you're out at the mall? Just dangle the baby over a potted plant in the food court?
    3) What if you live in an apartment? Is it necessary to pick up the baby's business just like you would any standard house pet?

Huggies sound like the way to go rather than this crazy pray-and-dangle method...

Geez, kids who wear diapers rip them off and have accidents that overfill a diaper all the time. I cannot imagine making the situation worse by going diaper free. The idea of that mess makes me nauseous.
