I was expecting Phoenix to make some significant addition to their lineup after letting Kurt Thomas go and I'm still waiting. Are they going for broke and re-commiting to their razzle-dazzle offensive game at further expense to their defense w/c is their true weakness? Amare is said to be working on his 3-point shot so I'm curious how the Spurs would respond defensively to this development if he starts making them.

I think they would like nothing more than Amare sitting at the arc all game.

Agree.. but let's say he starts hitting them consistently(a big IF, still to be seen to be believed), the defense will have to repond somehow.. sort of like Nowitzki situation but then who does TD guard? I see this as a way to limit TD by having him expend energy and fouls trying to match up with quicker players. They can't defend him any other way.

If Amare starts making 3pointers it is good for Spurs. It means he is going for less percentage shots than higher percentage shots that he gets today. So at the end of the day he is going to get almost the same point that he gets today. The biggest advantage Spurs would gain is more defensive rebounds because there will be no one to clean the glass. Ofcourse they are not great offensive rebounders now.

The biggest difference between Amare and Dirk as they stand today is that Amare's strength is inside game (I know he is not the greatest inside scorer) where as Dirk has poor inside game. Dirk has guys like Dampier to clean the glass. Who will clean the glass if Amare lives beyond arch.

It would be a stupid move if Suns make Amare a 3 pointer. But I would not be surprised if Suns did it. The last time I checked, Suns not only lost the series to Spurs but also their brain. So no surprise party even if Nash plays Center and Marion plays point.

I know that Nash is working on his flopping-flying abilities.

Amare is already thinking (yes, he can think sometimes) about what he is gonna say during the 2008 playoffs, in order to try (without any success) to get under our skin; of course, it will turn against him once again (yeah, he is not that smart...)

So, do not say that the Suns are not getting ready for the next season !

, I can't believe you simpletons are actually arguing about what to do with Stoudewhiner jacking up 3's all game. This is a new low. Here's the answer, you get the rebounds, sweep the series, and laugh at the sheer stupidity of your opponent.

They have Sean Marks. What's the problem?

Hopefully, rather than working on off-season acquisitions, they're working on buying off the refs, which is clearly a more effective strategy in today's NBA.

Speaking of which, are we going to pass the collection plate on our annual SpursTalk "Lets buy off the refs" Pledge-o-thon again this year? I know last year I could only chip in 20 bucks. But I got a second job all summer just so I could join with all my Spurs fans around the world in screwing over the other teams in the league.

Until Amare can develop the Dirk contortion/flopping routine, then a 3 point shot won't matter.

    Stoudemire is so stupid....

    How stupid is he?

When he moved to the SW, his handler had to explain a few things to him:

    1. An adobe house is not created on a computer.

    2. A Mexican Grill and Tapas is not something you put on a car.

    3. The Patchwork Reservation isn't something you make at a restaurant in case one of your family members can get out on work release.
