Wow, from 5 to zero. I wonder if that has ever happened? I am also not suprised to see UT and Ohio move down while WVa moved up.

Funny that Viginia Tech sucked this week and stayed the same. Texas also looked bad, but since Ohio St. didn't win by 50 they get leap frogged. Oh well it will all work itself out as Virginia Tech will get ousted from the top 10 this week.
Others receiving votes: Clemson 145; Michigan 132; Miami (Fla.) 61; Brigham Young 49; Oregon 41; South Carolina 34; Missouri 29; Texas Tech 25; Oregon State 24; Alabama 21; South Florida 20; Southern Mississippi 16; Florida State 14; Kentucky 4; Arizona State 3; Iowa 1; Wake Forest 1; Washington 1.
WACK!
AP has them out, as well. Oh, and NU at 16.
Everyone assumes VaTek was flat because of the ceremony they had. They were the only team to get a mulligan this week.
chill out man...what does it matter this week anyway?
if the canes slap oklahoma then you're in...if miami gets beat down, then their asses would be back out of the rankings next week.
the canes would already be ranked if they didn't suck such huge nuts.
For everyone in the to 10 to 15 it doesn't really matter what the rankings are. If you're in that position and you win all of your games - big chance you'll be in the le game. It's not likely more than one team will run the table, so pretty much all of these teams control their destiny. Just win.
The white ones gave me the kobe bryant treatment.
I think they should have dropped at least some(they sure didn't look better then Cal.) I realize it was the first week , but still, teams that looked impressive should leap frog teams that stunk it up against mediocre opponents. Texas should have fallen out of the top 10 also. Too much stock goes into the preseason rankings.
If voters are going to give Va TRech sympathy votes all year, it will be a long year of college football
They will get all of ND's usual votes this year. If by some chance VaTek starts rolling undefeated, watch out, because they will be the story every Sunday, about the poor VaTek community rallying around its football team.
I am in no way making fun of the situation or what happened at VaTek, only how the media exploits such events to fill more air time.
Cal dominated and gets very little love, which was ironic to me because they beat a then-top 15 team. I guess everyone realized Phil Fulmer is just fat and Erik Ainge is wuss.
Thanks for that thought. Sadly, Michigan fans knew it was coming...as did the rest of the country.
Well, Ohio State was 14th in 2002 pre season and did just that. However I bet Auburn in 2004 is pissed b/c they did that and got no love. The only thing that screwed them was where they were ranked BEFORE the season.
