I like Culebra, but I think the meat at La Michoacano or however you spell it is better.
and I'm specifically talking about the one at Nacodoches & O'Connor.
The SO and I picked up a couple of thick cut Ribeyes for 3.99/lb and a monster cut of sirloin for 2.99/lb. We also stocked up on 80/20 hamburger meat for .99/lb.
Place was packed and for good reason.
I'm not sure you can find a better value for good cuts of steak in this area.
Some of them also carry yummy tamales.
The steaks I've purchased there have always been consistently wonderful, and they only time they haven't been is when the cook has had too much to drink or too busy watching the game (sup me?)
Anyone have a recommendation for good cuts of steak at a reasonable price?

Where is this place? Is there more than one in SA?
There are several. On SM Military, S WW White, Goliad, Blanco, Fred Rd, N Flores, and others I think.
I had a get together at my house of about 30 people and fed them all well for about $70 from Culebra.
They have the best chorizo there. And it's only like $1/lb.
This deserves to be in the quattro
We might need to check them out. I've heard good things about them.
The marinated riblets at Culebra Meat Market are the best. Everything is so cheap there
You can buy steaks from the meat counter inside the Barn Door restaurant. It's a bit more expensive than the Culebra's Meat Market, but still very reasonable, and the filets are bacon-wrapped and aged and everything, ready to go. They cook up really nicely. My dad's been buying his steaks there for the last 20 years.
