He should just tell you to shut the up Dan!
Yahoo NewsMONTGOMERY, Ala. - A judge refused to delay a trial Tuesday when an attorney objected to his wearing a judicial robe with the Ten Commandments embroidered on the front in gold.
Circuit Judge Ashley McKathan showed up Monday at his Covington County courtroom in southern Alabama wearing the robe. Attorneys who try cases at the courthouse said they had not seen him wearing it before. The commandments were described as being big enough to read by anyone near the judge.
Attorney Riley Powell, defending a client charged with DUI, filed a motion objecting to the robe and asking that the case be continued. He said McKathan denied both motions.
"I feel this creates a distraction that affects my client," Powell said.
McKathan told The Associated Press that he believes the Ten Commandments represent the truth "and you can't divorce the law from the truth. ... The Ten Commandments can help a judge know the difference between right and wrong."
Someone should challenge the Judge to recit the 10 commandments without looking down at his robe. If he can recit them from memory, he gets to keep them on. If not, they come off. No hypocrite should be a judge.
He should just tell you to shut the up Dan!
So, it's OK to wear the ten commandments on clothing, but not the American flag? These conservatives need to get their together...
Are you trying to tell me that only conservatives believe in God? Get real !
The judge just needs to do his job and stop trying to attract attention to his sorry ass.
Good advice Johnny, but take a look in the mirror!
What's next? Nike Swooshes?
"And this judgment was brought to you by Nike - the icon of swift justice!"
The decision by Judge McKathan cannot be copied or otherwise distributed without the written consent of Judge McKathan. Violaters will be prosecuted under the Laws of the Ten Commandements and you will have the tablets thrown at you.
Thank you Moses .
No need for the ACLU to get involved... no one in Alabama is actually able to read- so no harm done.
Unless they have some kind of dress code that rules against it then there is nothing wrong. Let the people of that state decide who they want as their judge.
