Francis sux nuts!!
I take Parker over Francis anyday!
Two straight years he's the MVP for the Spurs at the end of a game. That takes skill.

Francis sux nuts!!
I take Parker over Francis anyday!
beno>>>>>>>>>>>>steve
Had to be Franchise to take a last-second shot.
Nice airball, Jim.
Stevie is an ***all-star***, jim sez sftu! over dribbling, dumb plays, dribble in, dribble out, dribble dribble airball.
20 pts on 19 shots and 9 assists for Francis
13 pts on 15 shots and 3 assists for TP
TP better??? Get real.![]()
The last airball was because when Francis drove the lane, nobody got open for the kickout 3, so he has to hurry back out and try the 3 himself offbalance....tough shot to hit.
Elliott was in love with Steve the whole game with his praise....so I guess Sean Elliott, #32 is wrong too?

Sometimes I just cannot believe it... you have to take a 3pter...
Francis, you have been playing professional basketball for how many years?
Sorry, but the guy is brain dead.
sean is not perfect
tp was injured
beno stats are more impressive then steve's tonight
Francis is a load that should have been swallowed.
did not steve have 11 seconds?
he could have hit a to and fouled the great free throw shooters and make them hit both to get back up by 3
if they missed one he could have then hit a 3 for the win
Not one Orlando player was open, the Spurs played great D and never left the perimeter players, the play was supposed to be Francis drive the lane, draw the double team and pass out. They have run that play all year.(I watch Magic bball every game almost) The Spurs stayed home, Francis had to dribble back out and shoot. I am glad he missed, btw.
ducks, Orlando had no timeouts left, they were going for the 3. No time to hit 2 and foul.
No question he's a exceptional athelete...but has no freaken bball IQ.
Dumb as a rock.
I understand that, but the play has to have alternatives. They were 11 seconds on the clock. If the Spurs don't buy the penetration and there are no perimeter players open, you get the fast two, and foul immediately. You play your chances that the Spurs will miss a free throw or two, which is a good play being SA one of the worst free throw shooting teams, and try again for a two or a three. After free throws, Orlando could have had like 9-10 seconds on the clock, enough to advance the ball and getting another chance.
I am sorry Jim, but dribbling yourself to defeat using all the remaining clock, and taking an impossible 3 is not the best play. You will find a hard time justifying Francis decision.![]()
Anyway, excellent win by the Spurs![]()
20 pts on 19 shots....hmmmm let's take a closer look. Ok. ..hmm
5 of 19, that's 26%and that is in 41 minutes.
Parker was 6 of 15 (for the math-impaired that is 1 more basket with 4 less shots) and in 29 minutes.
I'll take those matchup stats any day...fransis' saving graces were hitting all his frees and not jacking up but 2 threes.
Good Point.
Don't just look at the numbers Jimbo...look beyond. DUH...
Franchise didn't drive looking to kickout for the three.
He drove hoping to try to get the rookie Wilks to bite on a weak ass head fake, and when it didn't work he said "oh " and headed back outside.
Game over.
Um, Wilks isn't a rookie.
He spent much of last year practicing against Francis.
A little Nelsonian tactic from Pop.
The name of the game is getting fouled by the opponent as much as possible. Francis got fouled at least 10 times last night and had 8 FTs to show for it. He got fouled going for rebs, penetrating the paint and going for loose balls. This is what you want your guards to do. This does two things, it allows you to score when your shot is off, like it was last night, and it gets your opponent in the penalty or in foul trouble, whereupon your teammates can shoot FTs on loose ball fouls and ticky tack fouls early in the quarters instead of ball on side. The reason why Francis is averaging 21 pts/game is because he gets to the line and he shooting 89% of his FTs. What % does Parker shoot, btw? There is no way in that TP is s better guard than Francis, you know it, I know it and everyone in the league knows it as well as Sean Elliott.
21 pts, 6.5 assists and 6 rebs a game...that is an awesome stat line in any league, at any position(Forward, center, guard) Stop the hating, it makes you guys look like fools.![]()

What is your point?![]()
I'm sure the name of the game is also shooting percentage.
26%
You're an idiot.
Parker has had games with 18%, 20%, 14%, 0.00%, and 22% shooting.
You are grasping at straws, quit while you are behind man, for God's sake.![]()
I must say, the tactics by the Spurs' coaching staff at end of game were solid and right on. Coach Mike Bud confirmed after the game that coming out of the huddle, the Spurs wanted to defend the perimeter and three point shot and allow penetration and 2 point looks. Even a not-warmed-up Wilks is a quicker defender than Beno, no question, and as Chump astutely pointed out - he knows Francis.
Francis played right into the Spurs' hands on that one and was just sooooooo
Stevie Franchise on that last play. A better guy could not have had the ball, from the Spurs' perspective.
Good Tactics. Good Talk.
