AARP benefits no bother: Robert Horry switched back to his rookie number, 25, to try to feel younger. Brent Barry doesn't need any motivational ploys because he’s stated this will be his final season.

Well good. We won't have to worry about the team giving away talent like Scola because Barry is hitting the cap at $5 mil per.

I don't understand why people are still dogging on Barry. Can someone shed some light on the situation please?

They're pissed because he was never able to fill that "Steve Kerr role".

    Oh....wait.

Barry may be 35 years old, but he can still move up and down the court. He can still shoot the rock and can still handle the ball.

He gets unfairly judged because he's getting $5M, but this guy is great in the locker room and still a decent player.

While I agree that it might be best for the Spurs to start looking for younger options at the SG position, I have no hard feelings towards Barry and won't be GLAD when he goes.

Scola has won rings in the NBA?? That's the only thing that matters.

Thinking Scola is even good is an overstatement.

Barry has hit his fair big shots of 3's in the playoff's for the Spurs. I don't know why so many Spurs fans choose to forget this. Yes he plays timid at times, yes his defense is below subpar, but that's not what he was brought here to do. He was brought to the Spurs as a 3 point shooter to help spread the floor. And despite timidness, he does hit an honest share of 3 pointers per game (at a pretty good shooting % I may add).

I'd say he's been a great pickup for the Spurs these past few seasons. Don't know why so many other fans disagree.

Damn, that sucks - Barry is easily one of my favourite Spurs - he is all class, and fits perfectly with the mould of the Spurs (apart from of course, his defence). But damn, he sure was an efficient marksman.

I'd miss him in the silver and black. Hopefully he moves into commentary like Sean.

Its going to be sad when he leaves the Spurs. I will miss his jokes. He is a great lockerroom guy and not that bad of a player.
