Saras but with team he not have to play defense.
3 years ago, who was considered the better player in Europe...
Sarunas?
Or Oberto?
Saras but with team he not have to play defense.
Exactly....
Sarunas
Sarunas by far.
that dude was n overrated, couldnt even play in the nba...while scrubs in nba who cant get on a tean are pulling monster stats in euro leagues
That not really true what "scrub" putting "monster stat in Euroleague"?
Bull . No, monster .
I don't think Marcus Fizer could get a guaranteed deal in the NBA over the summer after leading the ACB in scoring last season.
Another question - where does Saras rank with the all time European stars.
Did his acclaim reach the level of say Vlade? Kukoc? Manu? Sabonis? 1st tier euroleague great? Second tier?
Why do you have to turn every god damn thread into another Scola whackoff session for yourself? No one asked about Scola. I really didn't care before, but I'm to the point where I hope he ing falls on his face in the NBA and crawls back to Europe in disgrace. I hate Luis ing Scola.
TO say that Sarunas was more highly regarded is a huge understatement...I remember some people claiming he was the best player in the World...
Yet Oberto is the more successful NBA player...and it's because Oberto's game isn't reliant on physical attributes in the slightest bit...
This is not true of Scola...
And most of the other guys to translate leagues well do have the physical ability to make that transition...
IOW...Eff Scola...Spurs made the right move.
Sarunas couldn't get any backup minutes on an Indiana Pacers team or Warriors team and both of those teams had only one person that played PG.
NBA: Oberto
International: Sarunas
Before signing with the Spurs, Oberto was well known in an inner circle of european GMs for being one of the best guys to set picks for Manu, Nocioni and Scola on the Argentinian team.
I don't think any fan of any team in Europe -except, perhaps, his- had ever heard of him.
and to think we had guys like scola, javtokas stash away and not even bothered to sign them
What's?
Before signing with the Spurs, Oberto had the better season his carrer in Europe with Pamesa Valencia.
Every year he played the all stars game of Spain League. He considerated in the five better players in the Euroleague and before sign with Spurs all euroteams an some nba (Barca, Madrid, Pana, Roma, CSK, Memphis, Sacramento) they showed interest and maked an offer for him (Barca, Roma, CSK)
When he played in Valencia he was the player of the month of acb, several times. His games in the finals with Pamesa were unbelievable, he played like anyone more could have after in that team. All stats in offensive and defensive. He wasn't the mvp because Pamesa lost the last game.
Your comment laughs my ass off.
In the Europe still Oberto is considerated a stars and in the five best center list. And what's more important. Always he does every things to win, Sarunas is a great fiba player, but isn't a natural winner like Oberto.
If you don't finish your homework (watch Oberto on tape a lot in Europe) you can't post of him.
Though with excesive nerve and dreadfully written, he's got a point. Oberto did not come to the NBA earlier because his manager ed him.
He was also a starter in the argentinean gold medal squad (over Scola) and considered one of the top centers in Europe year in and year out.
I'm not sure what you mean regarding physical ability. Scola is very similar to Oberto in that regard. He is not physically gifted, but he's got great fundamentals and very nice court vision.
Excesive nerve and dreadfully witten, it sounds like me! No problem, bro.![]()
I like the fact that your comment laughs my ass off,
"because we are two wild and crazy guys"
