you're suffering a bout of insomnia, and at 3:30 AM you turn on ESPN and watch a Funny Truck tractor pull event. This raised a number of questions.

    1. People do that?
    2. People pay people to do that?
    3. People pay to see that?
    4. WTF am I doing?

You might wonder what a Funny Truck is. If you know what a Funny Car is, then you have a pretty good running start. Tube frame. Flip up body. Supercharged engine with about a zillion horsepower that looks like it could pull Jupiter out of a pothole.

At some point, the distance to get into the pull off (top 4 trucks) became 300 feet. Dude in his truck realizes that he only went 280 last time, and pulls out slowly, picks up speed, then drops the hammer and floors it, praying to make 300. At about 260, the rig stops dead, and smoke belches out of the engine compartment, and I'm thinking "Oh...THAT looks expensive".
