Satisfied with a handful of cherry Lifesavers, he returned to his seat on the bench. Thanks for stopping by, Tim.
I like this guy.
Nice assesments of the game. The Udoka assesment though seems spot on from what we know and other stuff as well.

These are a few of our favorite things from the Spurs' 116-111 victory over the Golden State ...
Ime Udoka's headiness. Udoka has been lauded for his defensive prowess, and for good reason. But more than that, the guy just seems to have an innate feel for the game. He seems to know when to make the right pass at the right time, when to reach for a steal, how to angle his body to snag rebounds over bigger players. The Spurs need to find minutes for this guy this season.
Darius Washington's toughness. When the chips were down, Washington wouldn't let the Spurs lose. If tonight is his crescendo as a Spur, it was a job well done.
Francisco Elson's jumper. Elson is showing the confidence that comes with being comfortable in the Spurs' system. He's taking his shots, and not deferring to other players. Elson made 7 of 11 field goals tonight, and most of them came on jumpers outside of 10 feet. Imagine how much better he might shoot when he finally gets rid of the Jason Voorhies mask.
Ian Mahimni's upside. The 20-year-old Frenchman isn't an NBA player right now, but he's showing signs that he could be one day. Exhibit A, the final 4:12 of the second quarter against the Warriors. In that span, Mahinmi threw in a jump hook over Patrick O'Bryan, drew a charge to force a Golden State turnover, tossed a nifty pass to Washington on a fast break to set up a pair of free throws and kept alive an offensive rebound to set up two more Manu Gibobili foul shots. He's going to be a force for Austin this season.
Tim Duncan's sweet tooth. The closest Duncan came to stepping foot on the floor tonight came during a timeout in the second quarter, when he wandered over to the scorer's table in search of candy. Satisfied with a handful of cherry Lifesavers, he returned to his seat on the bench. Thanks for stopping by, Tim.

we need to be careful to to overate Udoka... let's let the guy be... i should start a thread on this...
I went to the Dallas-Spurs preseason game and watched Udoka - he is one smart and intense guy. And a real addition to the team.
I liked the "Sound of Music" but sorry...one point off for McDonald using Sound of Music lyrics for a blog le to help describe the game.
Yea I don't get the le of his blog...
I was reminded of Coltrane's version of that song and forgot it was from the Sound of Music, but either way the reference does feel somewhat gimmicky.
His analysis of the game seems solid though.
Those were a few of his favorite things. Cheesy? Yes. But it made sense.
It seems like "brown paper packages tied up with strings" would have been substantially less gay.
Personally, I prefer the John Coltrane version.
Given it's the pre-season, he would have done better with:
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye
Adieu, adieu
To you and you and you

Me, best D-guy in the league

T, Amare left the bench
Which makes him another do-o-o-ope
For the record, I liked the le of the blog... and I like his style of writing. He keeps things fun.
Yet still the lesser of two gaynesses.
Nets have Jay Z, Spurs have Julie Andrews.
Gangsta time.![]()
I am sixty, going on seventy...
Every morning you taunt me . . .
I couldn't find a good picture of the two of together.
