2-7?
riiight is this necessary?
if he does good it's to rub it in the spur's fans face.
if he does bad then no big deal because rockets got him for nothing.
Yeah!
The people is getting tired of the Scola threads in the spurs forum
Let's make one thread where we place all the info 'bout Scola!
That's not entirely true...you did not get him for nothing.
It's not about the Rockets...it's about the Spurs and about whether or not they made the right call to move him.
Rockets = don't matter.
Scola matters only because the Spurs traded him...
Figure it out.
You? You're a Rocket Fan on a board called SpursTalk...
Because it's about the Spurs..
even if it doesn't turn out in our favor, theres no looking back. we MUST repeat and Scola doesn't change that. Anything less than a repeat, and nothin really matters..
They didn't get Scola for nothing. Spurs had to give up Spanoulis who Pop wanted.
False. Spanoulis had made it loud and clear that he wasn't going to stay in the states and would be headed back to Greece. The Rockets did not want to let him out of his contract. Then suddenly he is traded to the Spurs along with a 2nd round pick in 2009, and the Rockets get Jackie Butler and Scola, who then signs a very affordable contract offer at 3 years 9.5 million. Spanoulis is then released without having to pay back any of the buyout money the Rockets spent.
Spanoulis is happy
Scola is happy
Rockets are happy
Spurs are ??????
I don't see how we are better off ?? For Christ sakes, he barely makes more than Matt Bonner.
It's funny because although Scola will probably end up being a decent role player in the NBA, the overreaction of some of the Spurs fans has been priceless. The hyperbole has been so over the top, you'd think they should've traded Duncan and kept Scola.
It's the product of being told for several years that this guy was going to be fantastic and take some of the burden off of TD. If Scola turns out to be a great NBA player, then I'll anguish over it. Until then...
People would be saying the same damn thing if it was Oberto instead of Scola, and as evidenced in the 2007 playoffs all of you would be dead wrong.
I' m not claiming this guy is anywhere near Duncan's level, but he knows how to play. And in NBA terms he is a bargain. Decisions this poor will eventually catch up to you, a la the Rasho signing.
Scola makes Matt Bonner money, And Bonner in his wildest in dreams isn't as good as Scola.
What was the most underrated player acquisition?
1. Luis Scola, Houston 25.9%
2. Grant Hill, Phoenix 18.5%
3. Rashard Lewis, Orlando 7.4%
Darko Milicic, Memphis 7.4%
Zach Randolph, New York 7.4%
Others receiving votes: Derek Fisher, L.A. Lakers; Ryan Gomes, Minnesota; Jeff Green, Seattle; Al Horford, Atlanta; Eddie House, Boston; Desmond Mason, Milwaukee; Morris Peterson, New Orleans; James Posey, Boston; Joe Smith, Chicago
Last year's pick: Shane Battier

underrated? that's all anybody talks about when they talk about the rockets' hope for this season.
wtf?
Rox is scary on paper... Good luck !!! But Spurs is still the team to beat..
HOU 90, MEM 96
Scola with 10 pts (4/8 FG, 2/2 FT) 7 reb. 3 TO, 3 Steals and 3 Fouls in 23 min.
Wow, those numbers are Carl Landryesque.
yep
and without yao and tmac
They would've just gotten in Scola's way. I honestly don't know why they keep those chumps.
98 games to play.
I could try to predict what kind of crazy Britney Spears is going to get into this year, but when it comes down to it, nobody really knows until it happens.
The voices in her head know; they just aren't telling...
