Demetris Nichols was waived by the Knicks today. I've been watching this guy closely and he has looked like a steal for a 2nd round pick (Kind of reminds me of a Rasual Butler with more upside). From what I've seen he's a much better player than Marcus Williams. If there was any way we could waive or trade Beno and waive Marcus Williams in favor of Darius Washington and Demetris Nichols I think that would be a great move.

If he clears waivers do you think the Toros may take a look at him? Or do you think he'd rather play in Europe for a year.

If I'm him I would play in the D league this season because he is right on the cusp of cracking into the league. If Isiah didn't have so many lousy guaranteed contracts I'm sure he would have liked to hang onto him.

I'd be pretty surprised if he doesn't get picked up by an NBA team before the D-League draft, but he would probably go before the Toros' #12 pick regardless. He could have made enough money in training camp to be able to stay in the states, but he may have also asked to be let go early to sign in Europe.

Knicks probably wanted to keep him, but had a bad roster crunch... like every year.

Wasn't Udoka on their roster last year before having to be let go? I'd pick up Isiah scraps any time it's possible, though it's not possible this time.
