I wouldn't expect it to work, nor do I think they trade Kobe within the division, but it's as solid a package as Terry/Howard/filler or any non-Deng Bulls package.
Barbosa is young and inexpensive for the next five years, Diaw is young and a bit overpaid, but with minutes and touches may prove worthy of his contract. Marion is either a great player to have or 18 million off the books at year's end and the 2008 ATL 1st could be a top-5 pick.
BUT:
Kupchak is DESPERATE...he knows Kobe isn't going to play hard and NEEDS to pull the trigger on a trade to keep a pulse on his franchise in 5 years.
He can do better elsewhere. You're basically asking him to trade Kobe for TP straight up.
He ain't THAT desperate. Absolutely no chance in of LA doing this proposed deal. If you offered Parker, Ginobili, Mahinmi and Splitter you'd begin to get in the ballpark, albeit out in the cheap seats still.
