I think you mean Central, not Midwest.
But your plan makes sense.
would Stern switch up divisions?
Oklahoma isn't exactly in the Northwest region anymore.
I think it might make some sense to do this:
Oklahoma City Sonics: move to the Southwest Division
Memphis Grizzlies: move to the Eastern Conference, Central Division
Milwaukee Bucks: move to the Western Conference, Northwest Division
Anything that makes more sense?

I was thinking about this yesterday. Your model fits nicely, save for the gaff samikeyp caught. I'd love to see a solid team like Memphis out in the East just to see how big the gap from West to East is.
Good catch. Edited. Stupid mistake since I'm a Piston fan.
Never thought of it, but your plan makes sense.
I say move seattle to okc and have them join the southwest, then move the grizzlies (but change their name) to las vegas and have them join the northwest.
Didn't Memphis just get a new arena? I'd think New Orleans would be the better of the two to move to Las Vegas, but after the gambling scandel, I can't imagine Vegas is still a likely destination for a franchise. At least not right now...
