THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — A CT scan of Chad Johnson’s neck appeared normal, and the Bengals were hoping the receiver would be able to make the team flight home from Buffalo this evening, team public relations director Jack Brennan said.
Johnson was hit by Bills safety Donte Whitner and linebacker Coy Wire with less than two minutes remaining in Cincinnati’s 33-21 loss and had to be carted off the field. He kicked his legs repeatedly while lying on the turf, and Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said Johnson did not lose feeling in any part of his body.
Johnson did complain of neck pain, however, and was transported to a Buffalo-area hospital. He remained there as of 5:30 p.m., and Brennan said Johnson may undergo more tests before being released.
