i don't know if i'd believe every rumor regarding tuberville.
hard to believe that if he really really wanted the job, that the Ags would go in a different direction.
is Mike Sherman a better hire ??
Tuberville's agent apparently was in CS trying to get Tuberville a shot at the job but to no avail.
Personally I think he is an outstanding coach and a proven winner at the collegiate level who has proven himself to be a great big game coach.
He has the strong connections to ATM that seems necessary to make it there, so why not hire him.
I think Sherman is a better man for the job than Fran could ever be, but he does not have the track record at the NCAA level that Tuberville does. NFL success does not guarantee NCAA success, just ask Notre Dame..

I heard the TT rumor a little differently: The Ags wanted to hurry up and make their 'big splash' hire to keep their signing class and Tommy wanted to wait until after Auburn's bowl game to begin negotiations.
it has been reported by local media that Jimmy Sexton was in CS this weekend.
I can see why ATM would like to announce a move now but isn't Tuberville worth the wait?
Sherman isn't leaving Houston till their season ends so he really isn't going to be out there on the recruiting trail until the new year.
Possible his agent was using ATM as leverage for a new deal at AU for Tuberville but i gotta think it would have been worth talking to gauge any interest.
what did I miss? Why is Tuberville leaving Auburn? I thought he was doing a pretty good job
No he is not leaving now that ATM job is taken.
He has ties to ATM but he says he was not contacted about the job.
I would rather be second fiddle at ATM than at AU. More Revenue and better recruiting base. I bet he would have a dominant defense at ATM with what he could have recruited to there and he would have had an easier conference to go through to win a national le.
Tuberville would have cost about twice as much as Sherman did so jgw would have been the DC if Tubs had been signed.
Local media reports and a dollar plus will get you a Big Mac, but not much else.
Didn't Auburn just recently go undefeated? Auburn recruits just fine. Sherman is probably a good hire because of the offensive touch he can add.
Auburn recruited just fine with Bama on probation and before Saban took over. Now it's gonna be a bit harder for Tuberville.
it wouldn't be hard to recruit against stoops and mack brown?
You guys have no idea how many message boards across the SEC are rolling in laughter at aTm fans thinking, "TT wanted to come here."
Seriously. So freaking hilarious.
Reminds me of the time Hogville was on fire when BCG was at XNA ready to give his press conference...oh wait that didn't happen. So then Hogville lights up with the hiring of new #1 candidate Dana Altman who then quits after a day because he realizes that nowhere Nebraska is better than spectacular NW Arky. And after all those near misses Arkansas ends up with their man Jim Pelphrey of Southern Alabama and RAZORBACK NATION rejoices in all its glory and commences with its bi-weekly incestial gangbang.
Please keep posting...it's beautiful.
Yes Stoops and Mack Brown aren't chump change but look at the geographic advantage ATM has over AU in recruitng. Texas is simply so Damn big that there is plenty to go around and if the ATM coach locks up Houston which is only 90 miles away and gets the Dallas Carter pipeline going again he is in a great position.
Actually, Tuberville recruited just fine before Bama went on probation as well.
I think so, it's not like a&ms recruiting class is any good anyways so you should make the wait.
Why wouldn't TT want to come here? Auburn is always being overlooked, just look at 2003. If a&m goes undefeated they are in the NC.
What the does that have to do with anything? Seriously dude you always come out of left field with fawkin dumbass posts as if they make a bit of damn sense. For real, go search ebay for a life or something seriously. You just don't see how ignorant you are replying.
At least you got a sense of humor. More than I can say for others.
aggie fan:"tt wanted to come here"::RAZORBACK NATION:"BCG wanted to come here"
Lets see if you can figure out the analogy and irony of your post now.
Since you probably never took the SAT I've linked some practice questions here

Who is an aggie fan ???? Not I.
SEC fans are laughing at the notion that a coach would leave a big time program in the state of Alabama to go to ATM ???
Really, if I'm not mistaken Coach Fran left Alabama for ATM, who how it that a stretch of logic ??
I never said BCG ever wanted to come here.
Nice, trying to label me with other Hog fans.
There are homers in every fan base, whenever you wake up.
The irony is you are intimidated by a ing poster on a message board therefor you back up your sKiLLz with some SAT bull to somehow make yourself feel better about being stupid and how to disguise it.
Let's see if you can pull your head out of your ass now.
Clearly you don't understand analogies. I get it, verbal isn't your strength.
Did I say Tuberville was coming? You were mocking aggie fans for thinking TT was coming, when your own fanbase was doing the same exact thing less than a year ago with BCG. The analogy didn't include 'Brutalis' it was making a blanket statement about 'RAZORBACK NATION' just like you did with 'aggie fan'.
I am intimadated how?
HAHAHAHAHA - I have to search for this thread now from back in April. Oh, man this is gonna be good, even though Brutalis won't admit his basketball program homerism and just attempt to call himself "full of ."
