The question wouldn't even need to be posed if not for the rule about a maximum of three call-ups per year for an NBADL player on an NBA roster.
Cases for:
1. Indeterminent amount of time for Timmy to be on the shelf, need to have someone ready.
2. Long time between games in Austin.
3. Dressing 12 night in and out is status quo and probably best.
Cases against:
1. Ian had his first big game and was just getting into a rhythm.
2. Ian would probably be there to give minutes in blowout situations and not necessarily add to the regular rotation minutes when he could be developing in Austin w/ the Toros.
3. The "three call-up max" rule.
Bottom Line: It will depend on the tests they run tomorrow. If Timmy is "day to day" then I would say they keep Ian in Austin. If it's more like "two to three weeks", I think they'll bring him up.
