Deepest Team.
I know it's early but I don't remember us ever starting off this hot. This team seems like it's on a mission to get that repeat that has gotten away fromt hem so many years. If everyone stays healthy throughout the playoffs then I don't see who can beat this team in a seven game series.
Deepest Team.
It's tough to prove but this team is right up there at the top of the list.
Congrats on a great win. I didn't expect the Spurs to beat the Mavs without Duncan.
Strong message sent to the rest of the league about Spurs' determination & ability to repeat!
The 05 team I think was a tick better defensively.
Tonight was pretty impressive though.
The end of the season will determine of course.
It's a tossup between this one or the 03 team IMO.
The reason we are off to a fast start though has more to do with the fact that for the first time probably in the Duncan era, we returned the same supporting cast from the previous season.
Pop isn't having to spend the first 1/3rd of the season familiarizing half the team with the system.
You know...that's the reason we haven't repeated. It's kind of amazing that the Spurs have basically relearned how to win a le 4 times...
That's probably unique in NBA history.
The Mavs should know they were ed good without Tim.
The thing that should be scary for the rest of the NBA is that the Spurs have been playing pretty poorly up till now, yet are still 16-3 and dominating everyone else they've played.
Just wait till after All Star Game and they're really kicking up their Spurs-style defense. Barring any disaster (injury, etc) this should be their year to repeat.
1999. Avery won. It's a man's game.
Too early to tell. So far, it's looking like a mean team.
I'm ing loving this team. The fact that they pulled this game out without Timmy speaks volumes about how good they are.
only a championship can confirm that. and if we have to go through phoenix, dallas and the jazz through the playoffs and kick the celtics in the finals, the argument would be impressive.
its certainly the best offensive team so far, imo, coz this team can play different styles and are good at it.
I dont think we've seen the full potential of our perimeter defense yet.
Right now, Manu Ginobili is our MVP. He has been incredible this year.
If our defense improves and Tim steps it up after the All-star break, then yes. This could be one of the best teams of all time.
The team is winning, but is also still following the pattern of SPAM.
Im personally dissapointed that Pop is giving Udoka the cold shoulder.
Nah, no debate... '03 was "un witable"![]()
"Potentially".
Of course, that word means nothing until June.
Yeah me too. I know he may miss rotaions, but when he speaks, he doesn't seem like a freakin' dufus or anything. I say let him learn now, so he can be up to speed come April. His shot isn't bad, but not playing him is messing w/ his rythm.
I think the 2003 Spurs team with the Admiral is still the best.
That 05 team was not screwing around either, can't believe everyone is sleeping on them.
The Twin Towers, baby!!!![]()

This team is the most able to win without Duncan being at his best (or even in the game, like tonight.) Parker is better now than in 2003 and 2005. Ginobili is about at the 2005 level. Finley is maybe one of the only weakspots, the way he is playing now, but could re-find his shot later in the season. Also, Barry is having a great year, Oberto/Elson is better than Nazr/Rasho, and Bowen has been great too.
Last year, I didn't think we had a chance of winning it all, and we did.
This year, I feel totally opposite.
Man, I hope my karma sucks.
