Tim Duncan likely is going to sit out this game. And really, the Spurs without Duncan match up worse against the Jazz than they do the Mavs. The Jazz are much more physical and they are capable of hurting the Spurs on the inside with Duncan out.

Without Duncan, I'd be really impressed with a win. The most likely scenario is the Spurs have an emotional and physical let down after the grueling game against the Mavs. Then again, this Spurs team seems to have a lot of heart so you never know.

    Believe.

All I will say is we can't always expect Manu to post 37 points, so Finley, Barry, Oberto all better chip in considerably for us to pull another win without Tim. Without a decent replacement for Duncan, Pop is going small ball again, and Utah has enough muscle to cram that ball down our throats.

Without Tim to anchor the D, we better shoot lights out on this one, and we better do it right from the start. Not like we did against the Mavs, where it took us a whole quarter to get things going.

We need Manu on this game more tham what we needed him vs the Mavs. coze we know coach Sloan will try to break our D by playing alot of low post plays,so we need to score, score and score again to win this one.
Please Manu!!! just one more awsome game until Tim comes back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spurs are confident now, this should be a great game. With approach as they played Dallas they have great chances! I hope we'll see Super Manu again tonight

    I think Barry bounces back.

I think Elson suprises and gets more than 2 rebounds.

I think Parker has a good game.

I think Bowen scores more than 0.

Spurs lose by 4 though in the 4th when they totally run out of gas.

Heres to hoping POp actually lets udoka and Horry play tonight.

Let the bench (and Horry) see what they can do. Manu and Parker don't need to kill themeselves trying to win this one, imho.

The other day I was an hour late - forgot that ESPN post game time in ET, not central.

We need contributions from everyone to beat this Jazz team. Everyone must rebound and match the physical play of Utah. Ginobli and Parker will bring it, hopefully Finley can have a good shooting night b2b, with Barry and Bowen bouncing back as well.

    Go Spurs!!

Spurs Notebook: Parker rests his ankle

Web Posted: 12/06/2007 10:53 PM CST

    Mike Monroe
    Express-News staff writer

Add Tony Parker to the Spurs' list of key players teetering on the brink of the inactive list.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said Parker suffered a mild ankle sprain last week. While the All-Star point guard is not expected to miss any game action, he won't be participating in full practice sessions anytime soon.

Popovich said All-Star forward Tim Duncan is doubtful for tonight's game at the AT&T Center against the Utah Jazz because of his sprained right ankle. He probably will return to action Tuesday against Golden State.

Like Parker, Manu Ginobili was held out of Thursday's practice because of lingering soreness in his left hand, the result of a fall in the Spurs' game against Portland on Sunday.

"Both (Ginobili and Parker) did a lot of recovery stuff," Popovich said. "Tony went right to rehab. His ankle has been bothering him. He tweaked an ankle a while back and he's been real sore. He'll be fine for the game (tonight), but we kept him off it (Thursday).

"Manu just stretched and got in the pool and did some recovery kind of stuff. He's played a lot of games and been banged around pretty good. That's his style of play, and he'll play (tonight)."

And Bonner needs to play better. He can't continue to be a defensive liability while he has one year with Spurs. Horry is coming back and he needs to show something better before Horry takes his playtime.
If he doesn't improve his defense, I wouldn't be surprised to see him traded before the deadline. Spurs usually don't keep dead weight. He can't be traded before December 15th but after that, he could be on the trading block.
