If you watch some of his clips on youtube he has similar passes and shots
Reminds me of an oversized Manu Ginobili!

Bird was incredible.
He's the reason I'm an NBA fan.
I saw him play in the Garden in his rookie year and I was hooked.

I'm so envious of you right now.
I never forgot it.
For all the NBA games I've watched or been to since, that one will always be so special.
He was something else.
I don't think there's ever been a player quite like him.
And he really is why I'm an NBA fan.
If I hadn't seen him I don't know if I would have discovered this wonderful game.
Tom Gugliotta, Christian Laettner and Dirk were all supposed to be the next Bird,.
Bird is probably the only player NBA history would could average double digit rebounds with a 2-inch vertical. , he's probably the only NBA player with a 2-inch vertical, the guy couldn't jump over a block of tofu.
Him and Magic, probably the two most unique NBA players ever (along with Barkley).
They don't call him Larry Legend for nothin'
Manu has a more athletic game. I actually see Nash or Kidd based on how they appear to see the game/court better than anyone else. Dirk's game is similar - can't miss a shot and a decent post up.
Every good player has something like Larry, but no one has it all...
Last week NBA TV re-ran the special they did for Bird's 50th birthday.
Besides the obvious great plays they showed, they did interviews with his teammates and with guys that tried to defend him. The best stories were the ones of how Bird would tell the guy defending him exactly what he was going to do in a play. And trash talk with "And you can't stop me." And to a man, all those players said they couldn't stop him. Even after he told them what he was going to do.
The "hick from French Lick" could out play the best of them in his prime.
Classic Bird.
And so, it boils down to this: Who's better? Duncan or Bird (assuming both are in their peak)?
