he deserve it. Plus, his skills aren't there anymore. The dude can't even cover TEs.
probably tough for him to hold up because he's been tackling like that his whole life and it's only been illegal the past couple years.
but he's a repeat offender, the rule is unofficially named after him, and it gets people hurt.
he's gonna have to change his game.
he deserve it. Plus, his skills aren't there anymore. The dude can't even cover TEs.
he is what he's always been. just that media that's been slobbering over his hits since his sooner days has finally started to realize that his cover skills are well below average (although that monday night game against Washington should have cemented it).
he does lay people out.
but average to "ABOVE AVERAGE"(!!!) cover skills?
i think all but the biggest cowboy homers would disagree with that...
He's been a bit better in coverage over the last few weeks, but some of that is Wade pulling him on some of the two deep coverages in favor of an extra DB. The suspension is what it is - a very strong reminder for him to quit doing that move. I don't like that they made it illegal in the first place, sure people sometimes get injured by that but so do people who get chopped or tackled from behind. It's ing football, pussies.
Roy, JUST TAKE HIS LEGS OUT!!! It's much easier than chasing him down and ripping on his collar. I do agree with Beer though, it is football. If Roy doesn't tear TO's knee, this wouldn't be a rule.
it is football, but you can't tackle by a facemask either.
it's not a difficult rule and 99% of the rest of the safeties in football don't have a problem with it.
What a stupid ass. The dirtiest player in the NFL strikes again. I'm embarrassed to have him on the team. He pulled someone down in the same game and tried to jump on the back of their legs. He used to make big plays, which at least made him useful, but now he just looks like he's lost and trying to take somebody out. I hope the Cowboys play well without him and decide that he can be allowed to go away. Even if it hurts the defense to have him gone, I hope this is the beginning of the end of Roy in Dallas. I wouldn't have felt good about beating the Eagles if he'd had to injure Donavan McNabb in order for it to happen.
That said, Ken Hamlin's hit was not dirty, as he dislodged the receiver from the ball with his shoulder, which is his job. They may yet ding him for the helmet contact, but my guess is that they'll deem it incidental.

No, that le goes to Rodney Harrison.
Can we get Flozell Adams suspended for repeat holding too?
Rodney Harrison doesn't constantly use a tackle that breaks people's legs.
No, he just goes after people's heads, knees, and late hits.
How many legs has he broken by purposely using a dirty tackling technique?
I don't think Roy has purposely broken any legs.
Harrison has purposely went for the head a number of times.
I'd be a of a lot more worried about a head injury than a leg injury.
He purposely uses a dirty technique that breaks legs.
I agree. But going for the head is a far dirtier technique, especially knowing how much more serious head injuries can be.
He destroyed Trent Green's knee by diving into it unnecessarily.
In a pre-season game.
well let's find some solid proof that he purposely went for Green's knee. Harrison goes balls out all the time, even in preseason. you can't fault a guy for that.
there's pretty solid proof that horse collar tackles can break legs, and Roy continues to do it. and he does it cuz he's too big of a puss to tackle like a man.
Actually I considered calling Roy the second dirtiest. Harrison is definitely 1A. They're both cheap shotting little punks. I don't want either of them on my in' team, even if it means losing.
