It just seems like most of the time when Tim has a monster game the Spurs lose.
And furthermore wtf is with our lousy crunch time luck/execution? It was the difference maker in the 06 Dallas series and has cost us a lot of games...
3 championships in the last 5 years and the best record in the West right now...chill.
choke is a choke
Hmmm, I think this can go down as one of the most effortless awesome performances of TD's career. He wasn't really trying very hard out there except in spurts. His defense was par all night. He got blocked alot. Really, I think, his stats were inflated cuz the Suns simply had noone who can match up against him. It was Marion-Stoudemire-Skinner-Diaw, repeat
Duncan can score 35 on that in his sleep.
*hits panic button*
There, did it for you!
They did piss away the game where he scored his career high (53 pts in OT) against the Mavs in 01-02.
Maybe if Tim stops clanking one footers, getting blocked and blocked, turning over the ball in the stretch, we might win.
Great all game long, until money time, then Tim becomes just a Rasho wana-be.
a great game by tim usually means a bad game for the rest of the squad unless someone else in the team is also having a great game. don't worry too much. you're sweating like a stock irish pig.
the spurs win more of these games that they don't.
it's likely that the losses just stick in your brain better.
"Stuck". Not "stock". Which reminds me: I just learned recently that Billy Drago (who delivered that "stuck Irish pig" line in The Untouchables) is the father of Darren Burrows, who played Ed Chigliak in Northern Exposure.
(I just mention it 'cause it's about as important as a game in December.)
they just missed some easy 3 pt shots they normally make. If you chuck as many 3 pointers as Spurs, sometimes you live by the sword but you also die by the sword. I think if TP was playing, we would have shot less 3's and penetrated more (simply because Suns have no Bigs that can stop the penetration, just like they have no one who can stop DUncan), so had that been the case, we would have won by 15 points if some of the 3's went down and TP played his usual penetration game.
It's not uncommon for team guys to have monster games during losses (see Magic), the reason is because they have to pick up the slack for their suffering teammates, which means that the team, in general, isn't playing well.
We know Duncan can put up monster stats when he wants to, just that he knows that it doesn't help the Spurs win.
Brings back memories of when David had those monster games and we would lose........
I remember, I was about 5 years old and fell in love with the Spurs at that instant because of the Admiral. What an amazing player.
Yup...DRob is why my wife and I are Spurs fans!![]()
