NEW ORLEANS -- Jim Jackson, acquired by the New Orleans Hornets in a trade announced Monday, has been suspended indefinitely for failing to report to the team.

Jackson, who plays guard and forward, was acquired by the Hornets (2-25) along with forward Bostjan Nachbar from the Houston Rockets in exchange for guard David Wesley.

The trade will not be affected by Jackson's suspension, the team said Wednesday in a news release. Nachbar was available for the Hornets' home game Wednesday night against Phoenix.

Jackson has spent time with Dallas, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Golden State, Portland, Atlanta, Cleveland, Miami and Sacramento in addition to Houston (where he signed as a free agent prior to the 2003-04 season).

He had averaged 13.3 points and 4.8 rebounds in 24 games with the Rockets this season.

There is a reason he's been with so many teams. There's also a reason why the Rockets got rid of him.

He's a cancer. Plain and simple.

Can blame the dude for not wanting to move to New Orleans. Why is that a problem? Its a business. If you don't want to go then you don't get paid, why should he risk injury and play for a ty team?

I don't blame him for not showing up. Signing as a free agent to help a team, who then turn around and trade you, is bad enough. But getting shovelled over to the absolute worst team in the country, possibly the worst team ever, after years as a journey-man, I'm sure he's had enough.

If he doesn't end up in Denver, Kiki should fire himself.

I agree with Mr. Body. If JJ wants to sulk for a day or 2, then let him. It's not like New Orleans is going anywhere in the playoffs at 2-25; then again, it is the Eastern Conference.

They're in the West this year. Which makes it worse.

How about when he and Kidd wouldnt pass to each other because they were both going after the same chick? Does that count? I think Tyra Banks is the chick in question.

I agree completely, good for him. Between not playing and "playing" in New Orleans, a team that has won a whole 2 games this season, as a veteran I don't blame him for having a preference to not play at all.

Then he should be a man and tell the team how he feels; by just not showing up he's behaving like a spoiled child that needs to be disciplined.

that and him. It's called being a professional. It blows my mind that there are people here that want to give him a free pass on the way he's acting.

Yeah, it sucks for him, but there's something wrong with that idea for me. I just wish that more players would "work" for their money and quit wishing that everything was perfect for them. I can't exactly explain it but it's kind of like Eli Manning refusing to go to San Diego (?) because they were bad. I mean, why do you play the game if you're so busy thinking about the team's status? Do you not have confidence in your abilities to make them better???
