Jeff McDonald: Parker will play (or else he won't)
Tony Parker, fresh off his first full practice session in more the week, walked over to the gathered gaggle of assorted media folks and gave them the answer to The Question before they even asked it.

"I'm going to play," he said.

So it was settled. Parker, after four games on the sidelines with a sprained left ankle, would be back in action Saturday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. Gregg Popovich wouldn't have to conscript visiting former point guard Avery Johnson back into service after all.

    Right?

    Not so fast.

Despite Parker's protestations to the contrary, Popovich still considers Parker to be a game-time decision.

"He was just fine," Popovich said of Parker's workout. "We'll see how he feels in the morning."

We have a feeling Parker will feel just fine at sunrise, too. Fine enough to play, at least.

For those who enjoy reading the tea leaves and chicken bones in order to predict the Spurs' future moves, here's a sign Parker will play tomorrow: The Spurs sent Darius Washington back to the Developmental League on Friday morning.

Doesn't seem like they would have done so if Parker wasn't closing in on a return.
