Jeff McDonald: Left index fingers are overrated
It has already been decided that Manu Ginobili will not play in Wednesday night's game against the Bulls. He has a sprained index finger on his left-hand, which would seem like a pretty big handicap for a left-handed player. Coach Gregg Popovich says he doesn't know when Ginobili might be available to play again.

After watching Ginobili at work on Monday, we say play him anyway, sprained thumb and all.*

While the rest of his teammates went through a full Christmas Eve practice, Ginobili shot around on another court. Since his injured left hand was covered by a soft cast, Ginobili spent the entire time shooting right-handed. He even attempted free throws this way, although mostly unsuccessfully.

So...we should play Manu...because he was unsuccessfully shooting right-handedly? Lot of sense that makes.

And he references the injury to the index finger in the first paragraph, than mistakenly calls it a sprained thumb in the second.

I'm pretty sure Jeff McDonald is really one of these guys put in front of a laptop.
