Why is it that the only thing the UN has seemed interested in doing during this whole tsunami crisis is finding ways to bash George W. Bush for it? First, he was bashed for failing to give out a flashy huge aid package before assessing the situation. Then, he got bashed because he wasn't out there making sufficiently demonstrative public statements about the disaster. Apparently, folks at the UN think that big words and flashy gestures mean more than getting actual things accomplished. Now, he's getting bashed because he is not letting some UN bureaucrat take charge of relief coordination.

Imagine a world where the United Nations spent at least half as much energy doing actual work as it does blaming the US government for global warming on Mars or whatever.
