I'm not sure there is a real "threat" to the Spurs' reign this year. There are no true championship contenders outside of the Spurs. The Pistons of 2004-2006 could compete on a championship level with the current Spurs, but outside of Boston and Detroit this season, the Spurs will be seeing easy W's all season long.
