Jags are the only "sleeper", and not even them since just about everyone is picking them as the "Dark Horse".
True. Still I just can't see very consistent QB David Garrard and coach Jack Del Rio giving the Patsies any gifts like their squeaker wins over Philly, Balti and Giants. That being said, you know the Pats and BelliCheat will give NO gifts to the Jags.
Probably Pats in close game but Jags sure have a shot.
Otherwise Chargers have matched up well with Peyton Indy the last 3 years.
If the Norvites can get past Tennessee.![]()
yeah, no offense, but when everybody - including major media outlets - have the Skins as their sleeper - don't they cease to be a sleeper?
I could see that the Redskins might be able to get over this week at Seattle and pose an interesting problem for the Cowboys in the Divisional round, given that the Skins made the Cowboys look pretty inept in Week 17 and had a chance to win the game in Dallas earlier this season. The Steelers made the most of a late-season run in 2005 and beat a #1 seed that wasn't exactly scintillating in the last couple of weeks of the season. The Skins are on a similar run and they have an interesting dose of motivation through the Sean Taylor situation. But the Steelers didn't have to make anything like a cross-country trip until the AFC Championship game -- that's a big trip to make from D.C. to Seattle and teams going in that direction don't always do well.
I don't think the Jags reaching the Divisional round would be much of an upset, but I do think it's possible that the Chargers might find a way to beat Indy and reach the AFC Championship if (but only if) Rivers doesn't kill them.
With all of that said, I'd still be shocked if we didn't end up with Colts @ Patriots and Packers @ Cowboys in the conference championship games.
