I don't think it's a matter of starting, it's a matter of Barry getting minutes and Barry continuing to get comfortable with the Spurs system and his place in it.
It's not about when he gets the minutes, it's just about him getting them. He isn't Hedo who needed to start for his confidence, Barry just needs the minutes because he isn't an ultra agressive player...
yea but i say start barry because manu is much more of a spark off the bench than barry, plus maybe starting barry will give him more confidence. it seemed to do so tonight.
I think Barry could play off the bench, only getting more minutes. Barry could play the 1 or the 2 position. I would want to see Parker, Manu, and Barry on the court at the same time.

No, because Manu has earned the honor of being a starter--and continues to do so.
However, I think Barry will continue to get more minutes and may even be used in a small rotation with Manu, Barry and Parker (with Bowen out for his rest) at times.

I remember one time when Gervin went down with an injury and the Spurs started Ron Brewer in his place. Brewer scored something like 44 and 40 and some other high number in three straight games.
Just because he had a great week, it didn't mean people were calling for him to replace Ice.
BTW, Ron Brewer was traded a short time later, so I guess he was "showcased".

Almost all of Manu's numbers are up as a starter, even though his minutes are identical to last year. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. A 24-6 record and .800 win pctg definately ain't broke.

Back on topic, Barry is playing well, but Gino should stay a starter.
Barry has been as much of a spark off the bench as anyone, he is fine where he is... start him when manu, parker, or bowen go out with injuries, Brent handled that scenario just fine, just like he'll handle every situation thrown at him
