No.
Why not? He's a big contributor and leader for a team that has made a big impact this season.
Don't go overboard with Fisher.
One more argument for D-Fish and i'll post this....
....Oops.
fisher did have an amazing game todayit was great...90% shooting from the field...NICE. Great leader he is on the lakers!
Now lets stop Paul tomorrow...no need to give him 23 assists again.
Bobby Fisher for the chess MVP? Yeah, could be...
I like Farmar. I wish the Spurs could have picked him up.
yeah, me too.
I think Fisher's return is a big reason for the Lakers having a good year so far and it is definitely being overlooked. Don't know if I'd go so far as to say he's MVP material thoguh.
Basketball News Central = The Homer Depot
We are just glad to have him back...![]()
MVP...please....a great addition, most definitely. Last night he was on Fire, 10/11 5 for 5 3's....now playing with Kobe helps a little.
12.8 PPG, 2.4 RPG, and 3.6 APG.
Not MVP Numbers.
Not even Sixth Man Numbers if he were coming off the bench.
Basically, you want us to be impressed that Derek Fisher is doing as well as Beno Udrih.
I think the OP was kidding in all honesty. But you can't deny Fish was one of the best offseason signings.
Ok, not mvp in the league but definitely a Co-MVP for the Lakers! I argued with a lot of fans, Lakers and other teams about what he would bring. Once again, I knew what the I was talking about! The Guard play has been solid and no need to make any changes, now if we can only stop Paul. He killed them last time they met. I hope Jackson has a plan for him tonight.
Lakers' Fisher all business
Derek Fisher's businesslike approach and on-court marksmanship keyed the Lakers' rout of the Memphis Grizzlies.

"He's professional," Bryant said. "He works hard every day. He has added a lot of stability to our ballclub."
Bryant said it was "ridiculous" to think that Fisher, 33, was being signed by the Lakers as just an aging locker-room leader, not a productive point guard.
"Now the league is so young, people think that's over the hill," Bryant said of being 30-something. "That didn't even cross my mind; I knew what he could do."
Bryant (26 points, six assists, five steals) also noted how well Fisher plays off him in the triangle offense; Bryant assisted on Fisher's first three baskets. Yet they work together well as the team's co-captains, too.
Bryant describes this team as more united than any team in his career, with Bryant and Fisher – the team's only two married players – acting as "big brothers." It's true that if you were to be told that two Lakers were engaged in a morning discussion about the depth perception for shooters FedEx Forum offers vs. other NBA arenas, could it possibly be anyone but veterans Bryant and Fisher having that talk?
You need veterans to win championships. So many fans seem to want to jump on the next big upcoming young player but in the end you always need a good mix of young players and vets to win les.
