The guy just can't catch a break. Here's to a successful recovery.
I just had an emergency appendectomy a few months ago and it sucked major balls. I was incapable of getting out of bed for about a week, and it took about 2 months before I started feeling like myself again.
Perhaps my condition was more serious, but it's going to take more than 2 weeks for Hill to right his own ship again.
Ouch. Shouldn't really hurt Phoenix too much though. Regular season games are typically easy for them to win. Not coming at the best time chemistry-wise, though.
Not to make light of the appendectomy, but at least it has nothing to do with his ankle/foot that was the source of his injury problems for the better part of the last 7 years. He should really take his time trying to come back from the appendectomy. I have a cousin who wasn't right for a month after his surgery.
Maybe this is a blessing in disguise--I'm sure the guy could use the rest. Also, more shots for Amare Stoudemire.![]()
Two week recovery for abdominal surgery? . I had one about 20 years ago and I wasn't right for a month. , it was two weeks before I could even walk without being in pain.
Tough break. I've always like Grant. I wish him a speedy recovery!
It really depends. My father had to have an emergency appendectomy but the thing burst first, they had to cut him open, and the recovery time was along the lines of yours. But if it's a "hey, look, this thing's getting inflamed, let's take it out" and there was no damage done (which is what it sounds like from the article) it's a fairly simple laparoscopic procedure. Very small incision and greatly reduced chances for infection and greatly reduced recovery time.
Two weeks sounds very short but remember these guys are world-class athletes with access to medical care most of us can only dream about.

Exactly what I thought. This is exactly great news for Grant Hill. Forced vacation without actually being hurt.
The only thing better for the Suns would have been if D'Antoni went out for a few weeks.
A- ing-men. Or for a few months.
2 weeks seems kinda short. Sanikidze (a player drafted by Spurs who plays in Spain) has had the same surgery and it takes him more than 3 weeks.
Anyway, it's not a big deal. Suns could lost a couple of games because of that injury but 2 or 3 weeks of rest could help Hill to be more fresh for the playoff and some Suns player could benefit from having more playtime.
Let's hope for Suns that D'Antoni won't play even more some players. The fact that he does always the same mistake each year by giving too much playtime to some players is something that I've never understood.
Better than the ankle... funny the breaks Grant catches sometimes... if it's not an injury, then it's an emergency surgical procedure that will prevent him from playing a full 82.
He should have gone to the Lakers. I'm sure D'Antoni's heavy minutes had something to do with this.
ESPN now reports "two to three weeks."

My guess is he'll be back on the 29th when the Suns start a stretch when they play 10 of 11 games at home.
I don't know if they want to risk an Horry body slam on the 31st... just kidding!
