Go back to West Virginia, Pittsnoggle. The country roads are calling you home.
Rumors of Langford going to Germany untrue?
No big surprise, as others have said, if DJ is re-signed after the 24th.
January 9: AUSTIN
Re-acquired G Keith Langford and G DerMarr Johnson. Waived F Kevin Pittsnogle and G Kenton Paulino due to injury.
I don't know what happened to Kenton, but the writing was on the wall for Pittsnogle.

I'm sure the Langford offer was legit, but he has a nice chunk of change from his Spurs stint and the opportunity to play in the showcase next week and possibly get a better deal.
Hmmm ... waiving due to injury lets the Toros keep their rights, correct? Plus I assume the players keep getting paid. If those two players aren't injured, perhaps we'll see another pair of callups at some point, at which point those two players will become "healthy".
Pittsnogle and Paulino were easily the two most out of shape players on the team. I guess it's safe to end the dream that Pittsnogle will put the work in to get in shape and become an NBA worthy player.
I'm not sure if both are waived due to injury or just Kenton. It's confusing, because they could have injury waived Eric Dawson a long time ago. That and the Lang and Reed signings make me think Pittsnogle is simply gonzo and Kenton will be back when the Spurs call someone else up.
If the Toros gave them both phantom injuries, other owners are going to be freaking out.
Ah, yeah looks like I could have read it wrong. They might as well outright waive Pittsnogle if Lang is going to stay the rest of the season. Lang >>> Pittsnogle even though Lang has no NBA potential and Pittsnogle does. Pittsnogle seems like a lost cause at this point.
Paulino isn't too horrible but he's mostly on the team due to his UT ties.
Kenton knows his role and does it well enough for the Toros. It's probably pretty nice for him to stay in Austin awhile before having to go to Europe to make money.
Folks can about the Spurs' bending the rules -- the Flash owner wrote a blog dedicated to it -- but you could look at it this way: The Spurs are paying these guys to stay in the D-League. Langford could be making a whole D-League season's salary in a month in Germany. The NBA is putting out surveys that intimate they want the D-League to be perceived as the best basketball outside of the NBA. If they want that, they are going to have to pay the players more than they are now.
Can you link the blog from the Flash owner please

My favorite part is this:
Years?Enter the Spurs who, as all Jazz fans know, do not like to lose. Since they own the Austin Toros it appears they derived a way to ensure that they could get some top picks from the player pool so they could start dominating. What did they do? Well, they decided that they would sign several of the Toros players to very short term contracts with the Spurs. In fact, so short in that it only lasted one day. In one week they called up three Toros to "play" for the Spurs. To call up three D League players in one week from the same team would deplete a team-but actually it is a genius way for the Toros to stack their D League team. They now have the top 3 out of 4 slots to select players from the player pool. That should give them an advantage, if they select right, that could help them for several years to come.
This is minor league basketball dude. We have a grand total of one player who has been in Austin all three years. The top players don't stay around that long. Hyperbole makes you sound like a .
Toros and Defenders are the two teams owned by a NBA franchise and they are the top D-League teams. I don't know the whole D-League rosters but these teams seems to have a more talented roster than other ones.
Maybe it's just a coincidence, maybe not.
These teams haven't had more NBA players send down. In fact, other teams have often had more NBA players because they are affiliate to two or three NBA teams.
It looks like Defenders and Toros are able to attract players better than other D-League teams. Maybe it's because players have the feeling to be closer to a NBA team by signing with them, maybe it's because players think that the staff will be better in these teams.
It will be interesting if D-League teams owned by a NBA franchise will continue to be better than other D-League teams.
The Toros/Defenders game during the showcase could be interesting to watch.
In the BZ - a german newspaper in Berlin, today three players are discussed:
Devin Green, Jeremy Richardson and Keith Langford. Alba Berlin offered Langford 40.000$ per month and the 20.000$ Buyout. Thats all I know at the moment.
