Romo should be last on that list.
Romo ranked 5th out of the top 8 playoff quarterbacks...i can understand peyton and brady and maybe farve over him but ELI??? WTF![]()
WOW
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...x.html?eref=T1
Romo should be last on that list.
Well it's "QBs at the moment," and the little explanation says it all. Romo's blown the last few games, including the forgettable Washington game. No worries, everyone knows that Romo is a much better decision-maker than Eli.
But the washington game we already had everything locked up...no need to go out there and get hurt and win and run the 1st team offense...eli wins one game and now everyone is saying he is turning over the new eli...the giants are 1-5 against playoff teams this yr...that speaks for itself
That's what I mean. No one wanted to be there that day, so you might as well scratch that game. I don't believe in this momentum crap, especially when there is a bye week in the middle of it.
exactly...romo gos to the beach...and eli beats an old tampa offense and young D and hes the next payton! romo gets watched just as much as or more than britney spears!!
The list should be:
Brady
Manning
Favre
Romo
Garrard
Hasselbeck
Rivers
Eli
im w/ you on the top 4...but then i go haselback garrard eli rivers!
damn i hate rivers!
I'd put Hasselbeck above Rivers without a doubt. Maybe above Garrard too, because he has more playoff experience.
Phil Rivers is definitely the worst QB left in the playoffs.
Brady
Manning
Favre
Hasselbeck
Eli
Garrard
Rivers
Can't argue with it if you're basing it on the last few weeks. I'd certainly put Brady, P Manning, Farve, Garrard, and E Manning above Romo based on recent play.
Where's Brodie Bruce?
Rivers had one of the best weeks for a QB during wild card weekend. I applaud Garrard for his 41.9 QB ranking.![]()
i see, i didnt read the initial article....
how do u put garrard over romo?? u must be confused..maybe fred taylor over romo...and eli..1-5 vs playoffs..nugh said
you could write off the washington game by itself, but he wasn't playing well going into that game, so there is a bit of a trend going there.
i think most people would take him any day of the week (including this sunday) over Eli, but it's not completely outlandish to say otherwise right now either.
IMO, Romo is more talented but at the moment...Eli is playing better.
Based on recent weeks... Romo has not played well in the past what, month. Garrard has played well all season, and had some trouble in the wildcard.
I didn't say I thought Garrard was better, only that over the past few weeks he's played better.
Note that Romo's downturn happened to be at the same time as 2 injuries along the offensive line and TO. And of course his bum thumb.
but romo has been pretty consistent all season long (besides buffalo) and washington on the end..but that was meaningless..w/ a bum thumb he did what he needed to beat the panthers...and always seems to find a way to win..even w/ 5 picks...u cant say that bout eli...hes up and down and hes not clutch when u need it...i.e patriots pick in the 4th...garrard has been great w/ the no ints but hes no throwing many tds..but he is consistent but that running game is holding that team together...and damn i just hate RIVERS!!!! nothing to say bout him...but a talker
actually, he wasn't overly consistent at all in the past month. He was awful against Philly, his numbers were better against Carolina than his actual play, and the Washington defense whooped him (yes, they had nothing to play for, but if you take the field - your performance will be evaluated).
This pretty much says it all right here:
"Denny Tsettos, West Orange, N.J.: I can't turn on any sports TV show or radio program without everyone saying that the Giants will crush the Cowboys. From all the shows on ESPN to Sirius NFL Radio, no one is giving the Cowboys any chance of winning this game. Please give me some hope other than to put on earmuffs until Sunday!
Mickey: That would be a start. Funny how the NFL has turned into a "now" league. The Giants lose two of their final three games, and four of their final eight, but they go out and defeat an offensively-challenged team playing with no more than a backup running back, a quarterback who had thrown all of 13 touchdown passes all season and their best wide receiver trying to gamely play through a shoulder injury and suddenly they have turned their season around. If Terrell Owens is healthy enough to play, I think the Giants might be in for a little shock. "
Do you even believe yourself? That's a stupid ass remark, the team treated the game as a bye. You can evaluate all you want, but it doesn't have any bearing on anything if it was a throw away game handled as such. As it stands now it doesn't look like that big of a deal because the skins showed themselves to be the ty team they are last week.
If the Cowboys win this week I'm going to take a giant all over this board - give out nothing but " you's" to a lot of people here, and dedicate about three threads to nothing but ESPN and their bull .
