Congratulations and here's to him going home very soon!
Our son was born yesterday at 6:07pm. Weighed 8lbs 3oz.
I wanted this to be the happiest day of my life, but the cir stances made it extremely scary.
My wife went to the hospital feeling less movement, they couldnt get a good read on the heartbeat because it had become irregular. Doctors wanted to do a C section.
Got him out, and he had an irregular heart beat and was not taking oxygen well. They immediately took him to the NICU for further evaluation, and i was a basketcase. could be heart defect, could be lung problems, could be both...
Over most of yesterday evening, and last night and all of today, they checked the heart and everything looked perfect, the lungs are a bit premature, since he was born a couple weeks early...so that is the cause of him not getting enough oxygen, but given some time in the NICU that should fix itself...That had to be one of the most stressfull events of my entire life, but the reward is so damn beautiful.
I feel so relieved and stressed at the same time, it is so frustrating not to be able to hold him when he cries, or feed him, or even spend much time with him. I thank god it wasnt anything more serious, and i have been on my knees praying that he make a speedy recovery.
Sorry if this comes out too big, but here is my boy:
I am off to try and sleep, i havent shut my eyes since thursday night. Hopefully now that things are calmed down, i can finally rest.
Congratulations and here's to him going home very soon!
Congratulations! That's an adorable picture!
that's a beautiful baby already, congrats! hope he'll be home soon.
Congrats SoulPatch! He is beautiful! I am sure that the staff at the NICU will take very good care of him and he will be home soon. Again, Congrats!!!
Beautiful baby, congrats. Get some sleep now, once he comes home that will be a foreign concept. How's the mom doing?
He's beautiful Soul Patch.
What a frightening experience.
I'm glad he's okay.
The best part is--he knows you are there. It makes such a huge difference in their recovery times to have all that love in the room with them. Good luck to you and the new mommy. I hope you will always be such a good daddy!
So happy for you, mom, and baby! He looks perfect! NICUs are amazing places---they work miracles there; I had a 28week, 1lb. 15oz. baby that 11 yrs later is gorgeous, still amazing doctors, and well on her way to becoming a world class concert cellist. With yours, looks like they have alot to work with! I know it's hard not to worry or be scared, but I know everything will be just fine!
Congrats soul patch! Your hand looks freakishly giant next to that sweet little baby.![]()
Damn you got some hairy paws... Is your last name Sasquatch by any chance?
SP, good luck man.
Mom is doing great. She was up and around about 6hrs after the operation. I wheeled her down to see the baby at about midnight that same night, since then she has just gotten better and better.
I got a good 7hrs of sleep last night so im feeling great, on my way back to the hospital.
Thanks for all the well wishes.
That's awesome SP. Congrats....glad everything turned out ok. I'm next in about a month. I can't wait.

I will join you in praying that you get to bring home baby really soon.
