Use a travel agent.....they can do the research for you.
Give them dates and any specifics you want and let them to do the work for you. Also it gives you someone to talk to face to face.
Has anyone gone there recently? Did you use a travel agent or find any good deals online? I'm looking to go this year and would appreciate any feedback on this... prices, best parks, resorts, etc. Thanks!

that place!
Last time I went there, I showed up real early, ...I was the first one there. Me and the fam were so excited we raced to the entrance...only to find that the ing place was CLOSED!!! I was so angry!
Long story short...We were not charged with kidnapping because I explained to Walt Disney that I killed my aunt Edna.
Awesome vacation. Use a good travel agent unless you have connections.
Southwest Airlines usually has good package deals for Disney World. Have fun, and take a huge wad of cash! It's expensive.
My sister just ran a marathon down there yesterday!
If you wanna stay at the best most fun resort, the place to stay is the Wilderness Lodge.
I stay there every year.
Best of all of them hands down. Definately worth the money.
The boardwalk is fun for dinner to go to the ESPN Club and watch a game.
Downtown Disney is loads of fun.
The cirque de solei show is a must see.
All the clubs and drinks are top notch.
Have fun, I can't wait to go back in November.
Are there any children with you? Take a truck load of money. It is soooooo expensive for regular people. All of the parks are good. I have been to them all. For teenagers and adults who enjoy riding good rides..Islands of Adventure.
Kids....Disneyworld and Animal Kingdom..........Adults......Epcot Center. For children and adults..Universal Studios and MGM Studios. We rented a house, so that was the cheapest thing for the week. No discounts on any of the parks. Food is expensive as well, but if this will be your only time, then enjoy them all. Six Flags offer discount coupons......Disney World does not. If you go on a time share presentation, you may be able to get $10 or $20 off your ticket. Don't fall for it though. You must do careful research. Have fun.
Most of the hotels have decent prices, it's the frickin parks that hose you. Do the park hopper, spend a couple days at universal. the rest of the crap like downtown disney and city walk is overrated.
The wife and kids me me there in 2006 while I was working in central Florida. Wife did it all through Disney. We stayed at Saratoga Springs, got the meal plan (The way to go IMHO) and didn't worry about the park hopper because of the age of our kids.
I'd say you can do it yourself rather than pay the TA fee.
Went a couple of years ago and planning on going again this year. I just looked up everything myself. Orbitz, Travelocity, etc. Yes, parkhoppers are a must. I booked everything online, hotel, parks, and rental car. I think they say to book everything 4 months prior to actual date. At least that's what I remember.
Not all agencies charge a fee for vacation packages. Ask up front.

If you are not taking a child, then please please go to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure instead of Walt Disney World. If you stay at the Hard Rock Hotel, then you can use your room key and you get in all the fast lines instead of the regular lines. You will never have to wait longer than 10-15 mins at any ride.
The rollercoasters and water rides are the best in the country, and you will have a great time, I promise you. The pool at the Hard Rock is very cool and has a beach and water slide.
We have been there 4 times and never get tired of it.
I have been to Walt Disney World at least 10 times and it is fun too, but you have to wait in line so damn long for everything, you do not get much in.
In fact we are going to Walt Disney World with my son's HS band in April and we will have fun, but not near as much as we do at Universal Studios.
TPark is right about Downtown Disney. At night, they close it off to kids and the clubs open up. They have great clubs and a comedy club too.
Eat at Gloria Estifans' restaurant there, it is good.
And if you aren't taking kids and do to go D'World, head to Epcot in the evening and drink around the world.
no instead, do it all!!!!!
Thanks for the feedback. This trip is adults only so thanks for the tips. When is a good time of year to go (less crowded, good weather)? I was thinking late this year..
I don't know if you have been there, but I would look into Discovery Cove.
Go in early March or late April.
i'm going jan 1 2009.
havent been since 2001.
though i may be there in june this year. Nothing like getting there the day after everyone leaves.![]()
Just wait another few years and will have one here in the great state of Texas!!!
One other thing is it rains alot in Orlando so be prepared. I took a summer vacation there two years ago and it rained two out of the five days. I stayed in the park during a terenchal down-pour. Look for a hotel with free shuttles to the park. If you want to save some cash dont stay in the park. A few miles away with a shuttle would be the best way to go.
It only rains in the Summer.
Wilderness lodge is ing awesome
Forecast calls for rain in 5 out of the next 10 days, I dont think it is just a summer thing.
I find Florida to be a mighty puzzling place in terms of weather. Its hit or miss, and is really dependent where you are.
