I'm glad he went to the National League and not to some AL team, particularly the Yankees or Red Sox or some other team with a large payroll.
you heard it here first

Yeah - like the Mets.
I'm actually upset he is out of the Indians' division, they pretty much own him, I think they were 5-1 vs him last year..oh well
I'm just glad the Tigers don't face him 4-5 times a year
I said AL team with a big payroll.
if this happens twins got bent over
depends... if santana doesn't resign with the mets they get F'ed.
the mets have 72 hours to try to work out an extension if they cant there will be no deal
Did MLB call the Police on this flat out theft? WTF no one couldn't of come up with a better package.
The Messiah has come to Queens to deliver Mets fans everywhere a championship.
I can't ing wait 'till baseball season.
-Mars
there were better packages but the twins wanted to wait and this was the best package available
Well might be right sure as glad is is out of The AL For sure.![]()
It would have been a bonus but I can understand why. Boston is still set and loaded to defend their championship. We still have that Josh Beckett guy!![]()
i just realized it's going to be even tougher for Roy O to win the Cy. NL pitching >>> AL pitching.
santana and Haren moving to NL this year.
3 words, Jacob Edward Peavy. It'll be nice seein Peavy and Santana goin after each other.
2006 nl cy winner Brandon Webb is still in the nl also
Peavy is still better and will be in his prime this season at the age of 27 on May 31st.
well Santana is the best pitcher in all mlb
he wasn't last season. particularly after the AS break... 4.04 ERA
oh i didn't know best pitcher in baseball is based only on last season
The rangers batting average just went up 20 points and -50 k's next season not having to face Johan
It's not like Webb is over the hill. He's late-20's as well. You can have an opinion that Peavy is better, and he is most undoubtedly the better power pitcher of the two, but Peavy also pitches in a pitcher's heaven, while Webb pitches in a top-5 NL hitters park. Peavy has some health issues every so often, while Webb is generally healthy.
Peavy may be a better pitcher right this minute, but it's not by a long shot and I think Webb has probably been a bit more consistent over the last three seasons.
To each his own, and remember, my second favorite team in the NL is the Padres. I just think it's a bit more of a toss up, and at most, maybe 60-40 in Peavy's favor.
Webb vs. Santana should be just as exciting as Peavy vs. Santana.
Scarry part is Santana will be better in The NL and will be just scary only facing 8 guys with no DL. Plus NL hitters really have not faced him. Last Shea is a pitchers park big time.
