    ESPN is reporting

Dallas' two 1st rounders plus Marion Barber for the Dolphins #1 pick which would be Darren McFadden.

Jerry Jones would prove he's the biggest football idiot in the history of football.
Please hire Jimmy Johnson as GM and go back to Arkansas.

    ing stupid.

That trade would be the most lopsided trade in cowboy history. That would be horrible if that happened. A pro-bowl running back that just scratch the surface of his prime and not one but two 1st round draft picks for an unproven rookie? are you joking me?

I don't think you guys realize how good McFadden is. Barber is a part-time back. McFadden is a franchise guy. IMO, McFadden is in the same class as LT and Peterson.

At the same time, the Cowboys have bigger needs right now than RB.

I don't think it's an idiotic trade, but probably not the best way to spend two draft picks and a damn good part-time power runner.

Exactly. That is the main reason why i think it would be stupid.

I wouldn't move Barber. For this to work they need both Fad and Barb. I'd move a 1,2,5 and maybe a future 1 to seal the deal.

they can get a good complement to barber with one of those late first round picks, i don't understand this at all. unless they have something in the works to shore up the secondary already.

This rumor has been floated out there for a few days, by Mortensen, if I'm not mistaken. I've heard both #1s and Barber (too much, imo), a #1, a #3 and Barber (getting better), and a #1 and Barber (I'd do that one).

The thing that concerns me about Barber, is that he takes an absolute beating. He has taken and given more hits, in a part time role, than most RBs in the league. I don't think he could hold up an entire season - and I can see his career slowing down in 3 or 4 years. I'd be fine with no trade, keeping both picks, and trying to get another RB (Felix Jones, Jonathan Stewart) to pair with him - and maybe a WR (Doucet, Kelly) with the other pick.

But, I wouldn't put Marion Barber anywhere near untradeable.

I guess its safe to assume Julius Jones won't be back. I'd love to see them draft a young reciever or safety as well. For once I feel good about the OL, DL and LBs.

this draft is really, really deep if the Cowboys wanted to get a change of pace speed back to complement with Barber.

but if they're looking for a game-changing, superstar, "1500+ yards & 20 TD's a year" franchise running back, McFadden is the only one available. And guys like that are few & far between.

My belief is that if you have the chance to get one of these rarities, you take him without question. Look at how the entire Vikings franchise has been turned around by Peterson. But I can certainly understand why many Cowboys fans don't want to make this move, given the many other part-time backs available to match up with Barber.

That sounds almost identical to what everyone was saying about Reggie Bush a couple of years ago.

True, but everybody gets a "USC bust exemption" on that one.

Darren McFadden is the real deal.

Same was said about Blair Thomas and Kijana Carter.

Thats my fear as well. If this can be done without losing our already proven back I'm happy.

Difference is, Peterson didn't have a team trade two first rounders and a pro-bowler for him.

Could the Dolphins pull a Cowboys of the early 90's?

Ghost of Herschel Walker????????Even though he's not dead.

The Cowboys already ed this up once by passing on Steven Jackson.

I'll take Jackson over any Barber/speed back combo there is. He's a game changer in ways that Barber can never be.

Now i'm not saying that 2 first rounders + Barber is worth it. But if the Dolphins are willing to trade that pick, you've gotta do what you can to get a guy like D-Mac.

I don't think the Cowboys with McFadden are any closer to winning the SB.

Trade one of the firsts for Roy Williams, draft the best available CB with the other, move Henry to FS and Hamlin to SS(only one RW per team), and use the rest of the picks on depth, preferably OL.

  23. #23
    Stupid if they do that.
