Going undefeated in the NFL reg season is a lot more impressive than 67 wins in NBA but ultimately it is all worthless if you don't win the ring.
No Pats didn't lose to the eight seed in the first round. The Pats have rings not the same.
The core players of this Patriots team have three Superbowl rings. That's not the same as the Mavs last year.

T-Mac has twice talked about how pleased he was about advancing out of the first round of the playoffs before his team actually did so, once when he was with the Orlando Magic, and again last year T-Mac talked about how great it was going to be getting into the second round.

You're right it is not the same it's worse. The way they played I sure as couldn't tell that they had won before. Losing your first game in the Championship is much worse than losing in the first round. I mean... DAMN

Which makes the way they played this game all the more inexcusable. They know what it takes to win and they play like this? Pitiful!!!
The way they played the game inexcusable? Huh? The Giants had everything to do with how the Pats played. The Pats didn't choke. They got outplayed by a team that was better on this particular day. If every team that knew what it takes to win kept winning, then Spurs would have won 5 les in a row, the Yankees would have won 8 World Series in a row, and so on. Sometimes, a great team gets beat by another great team that plays better in any given game. I don't think the Pats choked. I think they got beat.

Yeah I guess you're right. Losing a best of seven series to an inferior team the way the Mavs did is worse. But I still say this loss for the Patriots must hurt more.
