Same , different year.

Parker's out.
Gasol to the Lakers.
Limited flexibility next offseason.
Gaping holes in the frontcourt.
A lack of athleticism on the perimeter.
The team getting older.
I need a hug.

...have played like complete crap for 8 weeks, and yet...
Only trail by a single game in the "L" column.
Looking very promising, actually.
At least you have Damon...
Hey, is this a 2007 post? How about 2006?
Win or lose, smell the roses. Life is great. March, April, and May are typically great months for the Spurs. Whatever team wins for the West has to go through S.A.
Consider yourself lucky. You could be in Memphis, or Minnesota, or ... .
I get to continue to watch Tim Duncan play in the prime of his career, even if he's getting "older."
Nothing to feel deflated about from where I sit.
Yep I agree. Only time I ever feel deflated, if at all, is during the playoffs if we get bounced out. It's the regular season right now and nothing is that worrying.
You think we can still take the best in the West?
We have incredible flexibiity next year in expiring contracts plus Tiago Splitter coming in - relax.
Definitely. The Spurs are going to repeat this year.
Gasol schmasol.
I started a thread about flexibility and was told by others here that we do not have much wiggle room at all.
There are about 29 other teams that would rather be where the Spurs are right now.
Defending champions. 4 in 9, working on 5 in 10. Current dynasty, and still a Western forerunner.
Yeah, it's really tough being a Spurs fan these days.
After all, championships should be handed out on a silver platter.
Hey, Dex, how about living in the now?
Pop only trusts "greybeards"
Anytime the Spurs can trot out a lineup of Parker, Ginobili, Bowen, Duncan, Oberto/Horry in the 4th quarter of a playoff game, there is no reason to be deflated. Teams don't want none of that .
Spurs are 2 games back on the Division, and 3.5 on the Conference with thirty-ott games to play. All while playing like crap for the last 2 months...like every year. And approaching what is always the best part of the season....like every year.
Don't tell me you've given up on SPAM, Ghost.
I'll save the doom and gloom for if we miss the playoffs.
The Spurs are the best in the West.
Gasol has a bad back.
Keep an eye on that little detail as the season wears on...

Spurs Believer.
Quite frankly, I think Gasol is soft. Memphis would not be so willing to ship him out if he was a franchise-level player.
Try 1997.
Exactly.
Then, when you've lived in the now and won a le, about having lived in the now 3 years ago.
