I agree with some of this article.
I also think that the NBA suffers because of poor marketing. They tried for years to hype it's image to appeal to young black men after Jordan left. However, few players have ever been able to dominate by themselves like Jordan did, because he DIDN'T. But the image was there.
The world is catching basketball fever. The NBA just chose never to market the Spurs. When they win a le, the general public doesn't understand why, and many fail to understand the beauty of teamwork. The individual has been so promoted in the NBA that people no longer care about the teams -- they want to see highlight-reel dunks.
